Lieutenant F. McIntosh, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Area Officer, Area 9A, Greymouth. Dated 23rd April, 1928.

Lieutenant J. P. Joyce, D.C.M., Royal N.Z. Artillery, is appointed Adjutant, 2nd Brigade, N.Z. Field Artillery, Palmerston North. Dated 4th May, 1928.

Lieutenant R. J. Eyre, N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Area Officer, Area 9A, and Adjutant, 1st Battalion, Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment, Nelson. Dated 27th April, 1928.

Captain J. L. Cameron, from the Southland Regiment, to be Captain, Ist Battalion, with seniority as from the 28th October, 1923. Dated 5th June, 1928.

Lieutenant C. A. Noble, 2nd C Battalion, is transferred to the Wellington Regiment. Dated 5th May, 1928.

Lieutenant W. H. Fortune, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant, 1st Battalion. Dated 6th May, 1928.

Honorary Lieutenant A. J. Clareburt, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Bandmaster, Ist Battalion, with the honorary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 6th May, 1928.

2nd Lieutenant H. R. Heward, from the Taranaki Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 4th February, 1923, and is seconded for duty with the 3rd C Battalion. Dated 7th May, 1928.

Lieutenant S. M. Kinross, from the Otago Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 15th May, 1925, and is seconded for duty with the 5th C Battalion. Dated 5th May, 1928.

Lieutenant C. A. Noble, from the Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's Own), to be Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 23rd June, 1927, and is seconded for duty with the 5th C Battalion. Dated 5th May, 1928.

2nd Lieutenant R. B. Wood, Ist Battalion, is transferred to the N.Z. Army Service Corps. Dated 8th May, 1928.

2nd Lieutenant G. H. Snelling ceases to be seconded to the 4th C Battalion, and is seconded for duty with the 2nd C Battalion, with his original seniority. Dated 5th May, 1928.

His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the award of the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration to Colonel S. S. Allen, C.M.G., D.S.O., Commanding the Hauraki Regiment.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block III, Wairarapa Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken, is deposited in the post-office at Featherston, and is there open for inspection ; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work, or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

Approximate area of the piece of land required to be taken : 1 rood 6.5 perches.

Being portion of Suburban Section 487, Township of Featherston. Situated in Block III, Wairarapa Survey District. (S.O. 2289.)

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 72105, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
