NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—NORTH CAPE (OTAU).
Intended Establishment of Light.
Position: On the summit of the small peaked islet (Murimotu) lying close eastward of North Cape (Otai). Lat., 34° 25′ S., long., 173° 05′ E. (approx.).
Date of Intended Establishment: July, 1928.
Details: An unwatched group-flashing light is in course of erection.
Remarks: The amended height of the small peaked islet (Murimotu) is 317 ft. (96m6). Further notice will be issued.

WHANGARURU HARBOUR.
Buoys to be established.
- Hongiao Rock.
- Orapa Rock.
Date of Establishment: Immediately, without further notice.
Position: Grove Point Observation Spot, in lat. 35° 23½′ S., long. 174° 22′ E. (approx.).
- Position: Hongiao Rock (a sunken rock), situated 340° 10·2 cables from Grove Point Observation Spot.
Details: A red buoy is to be established immediately westward of Hongiao Rock.
- Position: Orapa Rock (a four-feet rock), situated 312°·7 10·95 cables from Grove Point Observation Spot.
Details: A black buoy is to be established immediately north-eastward of Orapa Rock.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Napier, 7th April, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be offered for sale by public auction for cash at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, on Wednesday, 16th May, 1928, at 11 o’clock a.m., under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.
SCHEDULE.
HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Hawke’s Bay County.—Pohui Survey District.
SECTION 1, Block XVI: Area, 117 acres. Upset price, £1,470.
Situated thirty-four miles north of Napier, access being by the Taupo and Te Waka roads.
Mostly hilly country, drained by small streams in steep gullies. Estimated to contain about 1,358,015 super. ft. of milling-timber, comprising rimu, matai, kahikatea, and rewarewa.
Terms of Sale.
One-fifth of the purchase-money to be paid on the fall of the hammer, and the balance, with Crown grant fee (£1), within thirty days thereafter; otherwise the part of the purchase-money paid by way of deposit shall be forfeited and the contract for the sale of the land be null and void.
Title will be subject to Part XIII of the Land Act, 1924.

Reserve in Auckland Land District for Lease by Public Tender.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders will be received at this office up till 4 o’clock p.m. on Friday, 18th May, 1928, for a lease for fourteen years of the undermentioned reserve under the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, and amendments.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TAURANGA COUNTY.—TE PAPA PARISH.
SECTION 472: Area, 13 acres 2 roods 38 perches. Plantation reserve.
Conditions of Lease.

Lease to be for grazing purposes only and subject to resumption at six months’ notice.

The lessee shall have no right to compensation, either for improvements put on the land or on account of the aforesaid resumption, or for any other cause; but he may, on the expiration or sooner determination of the lease, remove all buildings or fences erected by him, but not otherwise.

The lessee shall not sublet, transfer, or otherwise dispose of his interest in the lease without the written consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of all noxious weeds on the land, and he shall with all reasonable despatch remove, or cause to be removed, all noxious weeds or plants as may be directed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The lessee shall not be entitled to cut or make use of any timber on the land, and shall take all reasonable steps to preserve such timber from destruction by fire or otherwise.

The lessee shall discharge all rates, taxes, charges, and other assessments that may become due and payable.

Rental payments in arrear for two calendar months shall render the lease liable to termination; or a breach of covenant in the lease, expressed or implied, shall entitle the Crown to re-enter and determine the lease.

Tenders to be endorsed on the outside “Tender for Lease,” and to be accompanied by the first half-year’s rent, at the rate tendered, and lease fee £1 1s.

The highest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be offered for sale by public auction, for cash or on deferred payments, at this office on Friday, 27th day of April, 1928, at 2.30 o’clock p.m., under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, and amendments.

SECTION 5: Area, 4 acres 1 rood 19 perches; upset price, £242.
Situated one mile from Redcliffs tram stop, one mile and a half from Redcliffs School. All open hill country in English and native grasses. Two acres fairly flat and ploughable, balance steep faces, suitable when shelter provided, for flower-culture, raising early potatoes, tomatoes, &c. No buildings.
TERMS OF SALE.
The purchaser may pay for the land in cash or by deferred payments extending over a period of 34½ years. The terms are:—
Cash.—One-fifth of the purchase-money on the fall of the hammer, and the balance, with Crown-grant fee (£1), within thirty days thereafter.
Deferred Payments.—£22 of the purchase-money and £1 1s. (license fee) on the fall of the hammer; balance by equal half-yearly instalments extending over a period of 34½ years, with interest at 5½ per cent. per annum on the unpaid purchase-money; but with the right to pay off the whole or any part of the outstanding amount.
