Hauraki Plains Rating District.—Penalty on Overdue Rates.

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 29th March, 1928.

IN pursuance of section 76 of the Rating Act, 1925, and the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926, the ratepayers within the district constituted by the last-mentioned Act are hereby notified that 10 per cent. additional will be added to all rates for the year ended 31st March, 1928, unpaid on 9th May, 1928. Rates may be paid at any money-order office or to the “Collector of Rates,” Box 1659, Auckland.

Result of Land Surveyors’ Examination, March, 1928.

AT the examination of candidates for a surveyor’s license held in March, 1928, under the Surveyor’s Institute and Board of Examiners Act, 1908, and conducted by the Federated Surveyors’ Boards of Australia and New Zealand, twelve candidates presented themselves in New Zealand to complete their examinations.

Six of these candidates succeeding in obtaining a pass, as under :—

Result of an Extraordinary Election under the Government Railways Act, 1926.—Government Railways Superannuation Fund.

Notices issued under the Dangerous Goods Regulations, 1928.

NOTICE.

WITH reference to Regulation 8 of the Dangerous Goods Regulations, 1928, providing that containers and outer packages shall be of a type and constructed to the specifications approved by the Chief Inspector, it is hereby notified that containers complying with the specifications issued by the American Interstate Commerce Commission for containers for inflammable liquids and those contained in the British General Railway Classification of goods by merchandise trains are approved for conveyance and packing of dangerous goods of Class I.

Pursuant to Regulation 46 of the Dangerous Goods Regulations, 1928, the following types of pump are hereby approved for delivery of petroleum spirit from underground tanks for the purpose of retail sale :—

Type 121 approved under clause 32 of Dangerous Goods Regulations, 1928.

“Wayne”—
Types 205, 207, 276, 452, and 492 F.
Type 228 approved under clause 32 of Dangerous Goods Regulations, 1928.

“Milwaukee”—
Types 33, 37, 45, and 585.
Type 22 approved under clause 32 of Dangerous Goods Regulations, 1928.

“Gilbert and Barker”—
T. 177 (5 gallon) and 2179–5–S.
T. 177 (10 gallon) approved for outside use only.
T. 57 approved under clause 32 of Dangerous Goods Regulations, 1928.

“Hammond Visible.”

The above pumps, unless otherwise stated, are approved for use whether situated inside or outside buildings. The approval of pumps having visible containers installed inside buildings is subject to the provision of a notice on the pump in such terms as may be approved, calling attention to the requirements of clause 50 of the Dangerous Goods Regulations, 1928, and the approval applies to such pumps until the 31st March, 1930, only.

The approval of any pump is subject to its compliance with the requirements of the Weights and Measures Act, 1925.
