Notifying Lands in Taranaki Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the eighth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.
FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Waitomo County.—Totoro Survey District.
SECTION 4, Block VIII: Area, 10 acres. Upset price, £70.
Situated on the Mapiu Stream at the end of the Mapiu Road. It comprises for the most part good ploughable flat land. About 6 acres is in manuka and fern; balance is in bush.
SUBURBAN LAND.
Waitomo County.—Aria Suburban.
Section 8: Area, 4 acres 3 roods 14 perches. Upset price, £25.
Section 14: Area, 3 acres 0 roods 1 perch. Upset price, £20.
Situated on the Kiekie Road within easy reach of Aria Township. Comprise level to easy sloping land, covered with fern and manuka. Soil is of good quality and is well watered.

SECTIONS 29, 30, and 33: Area, 36 acres 1 rood. Upset price, £240.
These suburban sections are being offered as one holding. They comprise for the most part level to easy sloping land and partly steep country. There is a small patch of mixed bush on Section 29; balance area is covered with fern and manuka.

Opening Lands in the Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Friday, the twenty-fifth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Hauraki Plains County.—Thames Survey District.
SECTION 3, Block XII: Area, 15 acres 1 rood. Capital value, £275. Deposit on deferred payments, £15; half-yearly instalment, £8 9s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £5 10s. Weighted with £60, valuation for improvements consisting of shed (iron roof) and fencing, repayable in cash or in five years by ten half-yearly instalments of £6 18s. 8d.
Situated on the Kopu–Turua main road about two miles from Turua, where the nearest school and store are situated. Good quality level swamp land in rushes. The soil is of a loamy clay nature on marine mud formation.
SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Hauraki Plains County.—Piako Survey District.
Section 24, Block VII: Area, 308 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £200. Deposit on deferred payments, £10; Half-yearly instalment, £6 3s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £4.
Weighted with £70, valuation for improvements comprising two-roomed whare and lean-to shed, and share of boundary fencing. Repayable in cash or in five years by ten half-yearly instalments of £8 1s. 9d.
Situated at the junction of the Waitakaruru–Morrisville and South Roads, about eight miles from Waitakaruru, four miles by metalled road, balance by formed clay road. About four miles from Kaihere store and school and two miles from Torehape Post-office. All open country, half of which is ploughable; the balance being hilly but not broken. Soil of poor quality on clay formation. Section at present covered with tea-tree and fern. Fairly well watered by creek and springs.
Kawhia County.—Kawhia South Survey District.
Section 7, Block XI: Area, 213 acres. Capital value, £110. Deposit on deferred payments, £10; half-yearly instalment, £3 5s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £2 4s.
Weighted with £147 15s., valuation for improvements comprising approximately 45 acres felling and grassing and about 30 chains fencing; repayable by a cash deposit of £67 15s.; balance of £80 being repayable in cash or in five years by ten half-yearly instalments of £9 5s. 10d.
Situated twenty-three miles from Hangatiki Railway-station by metalled road for twenty miles, balance formed, now being metalled. Undulating country; about 45 acres felled and grassed, balance light to medium bush, comprising totara, rimu, white pine, tawa, with a fairly thick undergrowth of supple-jack, punga, kiekie, &c. Light to medium soil of fair quality on clay and limestone formation; well watered by permanent streams. Altitude, 500 ft. to 700 ft. above sea-level.
Whakatane County.—Rangitaiki Parish.
Section 9: Area, 50 acres. Capital value, £140. Deposit on deferred payments, £10; half-yearly instalment, £4 4s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £2 16s.
Section 10: Area, 73 acres 3 roods 15 perches. Capital value, £200. Deposit on deferred payments, £10; half-yearly instalment, £6 3s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £4.
Situated about six miles from Awakeri Railway-station, one mile from Owataiti School, and eight miles from Rangitaiki Plains Dairy Factory. Cream cart calls within half a mile of sections. The land is all undulating, swampy in parts, and covered with fern and manuka. Watered by swamps which are dry in summer. The soil is of a light nature on sandy formation. These sections are not considered suitable for occupation as individual farms, but are admirably situated for use as holding paddocks for farms subject to flooding in wintertime.
THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Waitomo County.—Kawhia South Survey District.
Section 5, Block XVI: Area, 1,206 acres 1 rood 27 perches. Capital value, £610. Deposit on deferred payments, £30; Half-yearly instalment, £18 17s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £12 4s.
Weighted with £915, valuation for improvements comprising four-roomed dwelling (with bathroom and washhouse) with lean-to and shed, about 670 chains fencing, and felling
