and eastern boundaries of Allotment 78, the eastern boundary of Allotments 16, 31, and 15; thence along the middle of a stream to the Mangawhai Harbour; thence along the middle of that harbour to the sea; thence along high-water mark of the sea, Hauraki Gulf and Firth of Thames (crossing the mouths of all harbours and rivers by the way), to the mouth of the Waikawa River in Block VI, Hastings Survey District; thence up the middle of that river to its source, and along a right line from said source to Northhead, Tairua Harbour; thence southerly along high-water mark, Bay of Plenty (crossing the mouths of all harbours and rivers by the way), to the mouth of the Waihi River, in Block III, Waihi North Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line to Mount Te Aroha Trig. Station; thence north-easterly along a right line (in the direction of Ngakuriawhare Trig. Station, Block 1, Katikati North) to the western boundary of the Tauranga Confiscation Block; thence south-easterly by a right line from hill to hill along the summit of the range forming the western boundary of the aforesaid Tauranga Confiscation Block and passing over Ngatamahinerangi, Mimio. tohanga, and Waianuanu to Te Weraiti Trig. Station; thence south-easterly along a right line to Puwhenua Trig. Station (in Block VII, Tapapa East Survey District); thence south-westerly along a right line to Rangitoto Mountain; thence south-easterly along a right line to the source of the Ongaruhue River; thence southerly along a mountain range passing through Weraroa. Tuhingamata, Motere, and Hauhungaroa Trig. Stations to Mannganu Trig. Station: thence southerly along the western boundary of the Waione Block to the Wanganui River; thence down the middle of that river to its confluence with the Ohura River; thence up the middle of the Ohura River to the 39th parallel of south latitude; thence westerly along the said parallel of latitude to the western boundary of Block IV, Pouatu Survey District; thence due north along that boundary and the western boundary of Block XVI, Waro Survey District, to the confiscation line; thence north-easterly along that line to the Tangarakau Stream; thence up the middle of that stream and up the middle of the Waitaanga Stream to the Kotare Road, at the southern boundary of Section 2, Block VII, Waro Survey District; thence westerly along the Kotare Rod to the south-west corner of Section 1, Block VII; thence along the south-west boundary of the said section and along the southern, western, and northern boundaries of Section 3, Block VI, Waro Surrey District, to the western boundary of Section 4, Block VI, Waro Surrey District ; thence along the western boundaries generally of Sections 4 and 5, and along the south-western and northern boundaries of Section 6 (all in Block VI, Waro Survey District,) t” the Mohakatino Road ; thence northerly along that road to a stream which crosses the Mohakatino-Parininihi Ia East Block and flows into the Mohakatino Stream near the westernmost corner of Section 1, Blook III, Waro Survey District,: thence down that stream to the said confluence and up the said Mohakatino Stream and along the northern boundary of Section 3, Block III, Waro Survey District, to Tawhitiraupeka Trig. Station ; thence along the south-western and western boundaries of Mokau-Mohakatino IH Block to the Mokau River; thence down the middle of that river to the sea, the place of commencement ; including in the hereinbefore described area Great Barrier Island and all islands excepting Rangitoto within the Hauraki Gulf.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

Areas, in addition to those referred to in Condition No. 8, excepted from the open season, wherein imported game and native game shall not be taken or killed.

  1. Rangitoto-Tuhua 52c l and 28, Block XIII, Tuhua Survey District, containing 384 acres 3 roods 12 perches, the property of Mr. Herbert J. Borck, of Okahukura, near Taumarunui.

  2. Rangitoto-Tuhua 52c 2A, Block XIII, Tuhua Survey District, containing 96 acres 0 roods 25 perches, the property of Mr. H. J. Borck, of Okahukura.

  3. Rangitoto-Tuhua 55B 2B, Block XIII, Tuhua Survey District, containing 970 acres, the property of Mr. G. A. Stanton, of Taumarunui.

  4. Rangitoto-Tuhua 52B 2B l, Block XIII, Tuhua Survey District, containing 192 acres, the property of Messrs. D. J. and W. M. McLennan, of Taringamotu, near Taumarunui.

  5. Rangitoto Tuhua 52b 4, Block XIII, Tuhua Survey District, containing 192 acres 0 roods 30 perches, the property of Messrs. D. J. and W. M. McLennan.

  6. Rangitoto-Tuhua 52B 7, Block XIII, Tuhua Survey Survey District, containing 336 acres, the property of Messrs. D. J. and W. M. McLennan.

  7. Rangitoto-Tuhua 52B 6, Block XIII, Tuhua Survey District, containing 96 acres, the property of Messrs. D. J. and W. M. McLennan.

  8. Rangitoto-Tuhua 52B 3, Block XII., Tuhua Survey District, containing 24 acres, the property of Messrs. D. J. and W. M. McLennan.

  10. Rangitoto Tuhua 52B 5, Block XIII, Tuhua Survey District,, containing 192 acres 1 rood 34 perches, the property of Messrs. D. J. and W. M. McLennan.

II. Rangitoto-Tuhua 52B 2, Block XIII, Tuhua Survey District, containing 600 acres 2 roods, the property of Messrs. D. J. and W. M. McLennan.

  1. S&ion 6, Block X, Rangiriri Survey District, the property of Messrs. O'Sullivan Bros., of Rotongaro; near Huntly.

  2. Rangitoto-Tuhua 52F, containing I 290 acres 0 roods 20 perches, the property of Mr. W. H. L. Napier.

  3. All that area in the Auckland Land District contained within the County of Matamata.

Open Season for Imported Game and Native Game, License Fee, &c., Bay of Islands Acclimatization District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Mani Pomare, Acting Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 1st day of May to the 30th day “f June, 1928 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the Bay of Islands Acclimatization District, as described in the First Schedule hereto, except in the areas referred to in condition No. 3 and in the Second Schedule hereto, for the taking or killing of the following imported game and native game-viz., cock pheasants, Californian quail, Australian quail, grey duck, black teal,, pukeko, and black swan.

CONDITIONS.

  1. LICENSES to take or kill such imported game and native game within the said district will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings (20s.) each; and the secretary of the Bay of Islands Acclimatization Society, or any person authorized by such secretary in that behalf, is hereby authorized t” sign and issue the said licenses.

  2. The number of such imported game and native game that may he taken or killed by any one person in any one day shall not exceed ten ““ok pheasants, twenty Californian quail, and Australian quail, and twenty head in all of grey duck, pukeko, black teal, and black swan.

  3. Nothing in any license to take or kill imported game and native game shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill imported game or native game on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes. or on any sanctuary or public domain, or any land mentioned in the Second Schedule hereto.

  4. No person shall kill or destroy any such imported game and or native game, or shoot at or attempt to shoot at any such imported game or native game, with any automatic or auto-loading gun, unless it is converted into a gun capable of carrying two cartridges only, or with any rifle or pea-rifle, swivel-gun, punt-gun, or pump-gun, or shall use any gun other than a shoulder-gun; and no gun shall be used for the purpose aforesaid the bore of which is larger than the size known as No. 12 at the muzzle, nor shall any gun be used which exceeds 10 lb. in weight..

  5. Shooting may begin not earlier than one hour before sunrise and must cease not later than one hour after sunset.

  6. No live birds of any species shall be used as decoys, nor shall more than twenty-five artificial decoys be used at any one time (whether by one or several persons) on any particular water within an area of 100 yards square.

  7. No person shall use any power-boat or launch in connection with the taking or killing of imported or native game.

  8. Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.

AU that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at the entrance to the Whangape Harbour and proceeding thence up the middle of that harbour and of the Awaroa River to the sooth-western corner of Section 3, Block XIV, Takahue Survey District; thence along the northern watershed of the Taraire and Mangamuka Rivers, passing through Raetea, Kumetewhiwhia, and Maungataniwha, to Ratakamaru; thence along the northern
