an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan,
and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of March and the
1st day of September in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years from the
1st day of March, 1928, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Loan of £22,400.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking
fund, and other charges on a loan of £22,400, authorized to
be raised by the Wanganui City Council under the Local
Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, for the purpose (together with accrued
sinking fund) of paying off the following special loan falling
due on the 8th day of June, 1928—namely, a special loan of
£35,000 raised by the Wanganui Borough Council in the year
1910 for the purpose of the construction under the Tramway
Act, 1908, the other Acts enabling it in that behalf, of an
electric tramway in extension of the existing electric tramway
in the Borough of Wanganui along certain streets in the
said borough commencing at the intersection of Purnell
Street, Guyton Street, and Guyton Street Extension; thence
along Guyton Street Extension, crossing the Government
railway-line, and continuing along Guyton Street Extension;
thence along a road to be constructed through Block 23,
Town Belt of the Town of Wanganui; thence along the Heads
Road to the junction of Heads Road and Carlton Avenue;
thence along Carlton Avenue to a point in Carlton Avenue
halfway between the Heads Road and Alma Road, and for
the construction or providing of a duplicate line in Taupo
Quay, a street in the said borough, commencing at a point

in the intersection of Churton Street and Taupo Quay afore-
said, and extending along Taupo Quay to Victoria Avenue;
thence along Victoria Avenue to Guyton Street; thence
along Guyton Street to a point at the intersection of Purnell
Street, Guyton Street, and Guyton Street Extension, and the
erecti0n and construction of an overhead bridge over the Go-
vernment railway-line in Guyton Street Extension, and for
the providing of electric tramcars, trailer-cars, plant for
generating power, buildings, sheds, and all land, other build-
ings, machinery, appliances, plant, apparatus, and things
necessary, convenient, or expedient for the purpose of con-
structing and working the said tramway and for the extension
of such tramway, and all things incidental thereto or used in
connection therewith, the Wanganui City Council hereby
makes and levies a special rate of one-fifth of a penny in the
pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved
value) of all rateable property of the City of Wanganui,
comprising the whole of the City of Wanganui, the boundaries
whereof are defined in the New Zealand Gazette of the 12th
day of August, 1926, Number 53, at pages 2500 and 2501,
and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly
on the 1st day of March and the 1st day of September in each
and every year during the currency of such loan, being a
period of twenty years from the 1st day of March, 1928,
or until the loan is fully paid off.
