INVERCARGILL BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATES.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Invercargill Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

Gladstone Loan No. 2 Redemption Loan of £840.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £840, authorized to be raised by the Invercargill Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of paying off the balance of the Gladstone Loan No. 2 of £1,000, which fell due on 1st August, 1927, the said Invercargill Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought one five (0·015) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property of the Borough of Invercargill, comprising the whole of the Borough of Invercargill, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period as prescribed by the Governor-General by Order in Council, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Special Loan No. 2 Redemption Loan of £5,950.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,950, authorized to be raised by the Invercargill Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of paying off the balance of special loan No. 2 of £17,000, which fell due on 1st January, 1928, the said Invercargill Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal one four five (0·145) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property of the Borough of Invercargill, comprising the whole of the Borough of Invercargill, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period as prescribed by the Governor-General by Order in Council, or until the loan is fully paid off.

FRANKLIN COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Franklin County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Franklin County Council Hull–McNaughton–Lewis Roads (Waiuku) Special-rating Area Loan of £3,100 (1927), authorized to be raised by the Franklin County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of—

(a) Forming, metalling, and rolling Hull’s Road (Otatau) for a distance of 122 chains and McNair’s Road (Otatau) for a distance of 9 chains;

(b) Forming, metalling, and rolling McNaughton’s Road (Akaaka West) for a distance of 110 chains;

(c) Construction, including metalling and rolling, of Lewis’ Road (Waiuku) from end of McNaughton’s Road to the Hull’s–Hermitage Road, a distance of 72 chains;

the said Franklin County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-farthings (¾d.) in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value), of all rateable property in the Hull–McNaughton–Lewis Roads (Waiuku) Special-rating Area of the County of Franklin, being part of Waipipi and Waiuku Ridings of Franklin County, and being more particularly described in the Schedule hereto, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
