No person shall sell or offer for sale any article of merchandise or carry on any trade within the limits of the park except with the permission of the Board in writing first had and obtained.

Live-stock of any kind found improperly within the limits of the park will be impounded and held until the usual driving fees and impounding charges and other expenses have been paid. Nothing in this by-law shall be deemed to limit or prevent the taking of any proceedings for the recovery of any penalty or otherwise in respect of the trespass of such stock.

Any person of bad repute may be excluded or removed from the park, and any person who renders himself obnoxious by bad behaviour or disorderly conduct in the park may be summarily removed therefrom by the Ranger or other officer of the Board.

Position: About 23 miles south-westward of Balmoral reef. Lat. 15° 57′ 54″ S., long. 175° 34′ 48″ E. (approx.)
Depth: Estimated to be about 5 fathoms (9m1).
Note.—The shoal is to be inserted on the charts with the note “(P.A.) Unexamd. (1927).”

Piako River Entrance Light: Further Information.
Former Notices: Wellington Notices Nos. 42 and 94 of 1927.
Position: At the outer entrance to Piako River. Lat. 37° 10′·3 S., long. 175° 29′·4 E., on Chart No. 1108.
Height: 10 ft. (3m0).
Structure: Concrete 3-pile beacon.
Details: The beacon is situated on the eastern side of the channel in a depth of one foot of water. Mid-channel, where the depth is between three and four feet at M.L.W.S., is about twenty feet from the beacon.

Notice to Mariners.—No. 10 of 1928.

THE following Notice to Mariners, which has been received from the Commonwealth Lighthouse Service, Melbourne, is published for general information.

AUSTRALIA.—SOUTH COAST.
Cape Banks: Intended Alteration in Light; Temporary Light to be exhibited; Signal Station to be discontinued.
Mariners and others are hereby notified that the alternating flashing white and red light on Cape Banks will be replaced on or about 1st June, 1928, by a group-flashing white light (U), and further that from about 1st May, 1928, till about 1st June, 1928, while alterations are in progress, the main light will be discontinued and a temporary light will be shown.
Position: On Carpenter Rocks Point. Lat. 37° 54½′ S., Long. 140° 23′ E., on Chart No. 1062.
Alterations:—
(a) The character of the light will be altered from alternating flashing white and red to group-flashing white (U), showing two flashes every fifteen seconds thus: Flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1⅓ sec., flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 13 sec.
(b) The power of the light will be increased from 5,000 candles to 72,000 candles.
(c) The light will be unwatched. The lightkeepers will be withdrawn, and the signal station discontinued.
Temporary Light: During alterations from about 1st May until about 1st June, 1928, a temporary light of low power will be exhibited from the balcony of the lighthouse tower, at the same elevation as the existing light. The character of the temporary light will be group-flashing white, showing two flashes every six seconds, thus: Flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1 sec., flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 4⅓ sec.
Remarks: In other respects the light will remain unaltered. Further notice will be given when the alterations have been carried out.
