FIRST SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF SOUTH INVERCARGILL.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District bounded by a
line commencing at the intersection of the eastern side of
Saturn Road with the southern side of John Street; thence
easterly along the southern side of John Street to Calypso
Road, across Calypso Road, and southerly along its eastern
side to the northern side of Tramway Road ; thence easterly
along the northern side of Tramway Road to the eastern side
of Boundary Road ; thence southerly along the eastern side
of Boundary Road to the southern side of the road forming the
southern boundary of the Invercargill Hundred; thence
along the southern side of the said road to Lyons Street;
thence across Lyons Street and northerly and north-westerly
along the western side of Lyons Street and Ferguson Street
to the eastern side of Richard Street; thence southerly along
the eastern side of Richard Street to a point in line with the
western side of Bain Street ; thence to and along the western
side of Bain Street to a point in line with the north-western
boundary of Section 46, Block XIX, Invercargill Hundred;
thence to and along that boundary to the eastern side of
Bluff Road ; thence northerly along the eastern side of Bluff
Road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Sec-
tion 4, Block III, Invercargill Hundred; thence to and along
that boundary and its production to the eastern side of Elles
Road ; thence northerly along the eastern side of Elles Road
to Tramway Road ; thence easterly along the southern side of
Tramway Road to the south-western side of Moulson Street;
thencc south-easterly along the south-western side of Moulson
Street to a point in line with the eastern side of Brown Street;
thencc northerly along the eastern side of Brown Street to
Tramway Road; thence along the south side of Tramway
Road to a point in line with the eastern side of Saturn Road;
thencc northerly to and along the eastern side of Saturn Road to
the southern side of John Street, the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF THE BOROUGH OF INVERCARGILL.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District bounded towards
the north generally by the Waihopai River from the Invercar-
gill-Kingston Railway to a point in line with the western
boundary of Section 26, Block I, Invercargill Hundred;
thence by a right line to the western boundary of that section;
thence by the said Section 26 to the north side of Albert Street;
thence by the production of the said north side of Albert Street
to the western side of Elles Road; thence by the western side
of Elles Road to a point in line with the northern side of
Layard Street; thencc due east across Elles Road to the
northern side of Layard Street aforesaid ; towards the north
by Sections 36, 37, and 28, Block I, Invercargill Hundred, to
a point in line with the eastern boundary of Salford Street;
thencc due south across Layard Street aforesaid to the north-
western boundary of Section 35, Block I, Invercargill Hundred;
towards the east by Sections 35 and 34, Block I, Invercargill
Hundred; towards the north by Section 34 aforesaid; to-
wards the north-east by Section 6, Block I, Invercargill
Hundred; towards the south-east by Sections 5 and 4, Block I,
Invercargill Hundred, to the western boundary of the Town of
Adamson; towards the east by the said township of Adamson
to the southern side of James Street; towards the south-east
by the southern side of James Street aforesaid to Bamborough
Street; thence by the eastern side of Bamborough Street
aforesaid to the north side of Tay Street East; thence easterly
along the north side of Tay Street East to a point in line with
the western boundary of the Township of Inglewood; thence
across Tay Street East and by Inglewood Township aforesaid
and Section II, Block I, Invercargill Hundred; and again by
Inglewood Township to the south side of Tweed Street East;
towards the south by the southern boundary of Tweed Street
East aforesaid to Conyers Street on the western boundary of
Section 17, Block I, Invercargill Hundred; thence by the
eastern side of that street to a point in line with the southern
side of John Street; thence towards the south generally by a
right line across the said street and the southern side of John
Street to the eastern side of Saturn Road; thence along the
eastern side of Saturn Road to and across Tramway Road;
thence westerly along the southern side of Tramway Road to
the eastern side of Brown Street; thence by the eastern side of
Brown Street to Moulson Street; across Moulson Street and
north-westerly along its south-western boundary to the
southern side of Tramway Road; thence by the eastern side of
Elles Road; thence by the eastern side of Elles Road to a point in line
with the southern boundary of Section 4, Block III, Invercar-
gill Hundred; thence to and by that boundary to the eastern

side of Bluff Road; thence by the eastern side of Bluff Road
to Dalrymple Road; thence by the southern side of Dalrymple
Road to the New River Estuary; thence towards the west
generally by the New River Estuary to the south side of
Stead Street; towards the south generally by Stead Street
to part of Section 10, Block III, Invercargill Hundred;
towards the south-east, east, and south by the other part of
the said Section 10, Block III, Invercargill Hundred; towards
the west by the Waihopai Channel; again towards the south-
east by Stead Street to a public road; thence towards the
south-west and west generally by the said public road to
Section 15, Block XV, Invercargill Hundred; towards the
north-west by the said Section 15 and E.R. Section 21,
Block XV, Invercargill Hundred, to Section 155, Block XV,
Invercargill Hundred; towards the north-east and north-west
by Section 155 aforesaid and Section 34, Block XV, Invercar-
gill Hundred; thence towards the west by the said Section 34,
Block XV, Invercargill Hundred; towards the north-west by
a public road; towards the east and north by Section 29,
Block XV, Invercargill Hundred; again towards the east by
a public road; towards the north-west by the abutment of
the said public road and Sections 32, 33, and 117, Block XV;
Invercargill Hundred; again towards the north-west by the
abutment of a public road to the Invercargill-Kingston
Railway; thence towards the east by the said Invercargill-
Kingston Railway to the place of commencement.

THIRD SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF MAIN WARD, BOROUGH OF SOUTH
INVERCARGILL.

ALL that area in the Borough of South Invercargill bounded
on the west, north, and east by the borough boundary from
the crossing of the borough boundary by Kingswell Creek
to the intersection of Calypso Road and Tramway Road;
thence across Tramway Road and along the eastern boundaries
of Sections 10 and 20, Block I, Township of Seaward Bush,
to McQuarry Street, across McQuarry Street and along the
eastern boundary of Section 47; across Moulson Street, Sea-
ward Bush Railway, and Scott Street, and along the eastern
boundary of Sections 44 and 60, Block I, Township of Sea-
ward Bush aforesaid, to Kingswell Creek; thence westerly and
south-westerly along Kingswell Creek to the borough boundary,
the place of commencement.

Notice making and levying Rates under the Rangitaiki Land
Drainage Act, 1910.

I, ALEXANDER DONALD McLEOD, Minister of Lands,
in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the
Rangitaiki Land Drainage Act, 1910, do hereby make and
levy a rate to meet maintenance costs upon the unimproved
value of all lands liable to be rated in pursuance of that Act,
on a graduated scale, as specified in the Schedule hereto
according to the classification of the land.

The said rates will be payable in one sum on the 1st day
of March, 1928, to the Collector of Rates for the Rangitaiki
Land Drainage District at the Chief Drainage Engineer's
Office, 5 Law Court Buildings, High Street, Auckland, at
which office the rate-book will be open for inspection.

A copy of the rate-book may be inspected by ratepayers
at the office of the Land Drainage Engineer, at Thornton,
near Whakatane, at all times at which that office is open for
the transaction of public business.

SCHEDULE.

CLASS A: On the unimproved value of all lands classified
as Class A by the arbitrators appointed under the said
Act, one penny and seventeen one-hundredths of a penny
(1d. and 17/100ths d.) in the pound.

Class B: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as
Class B by the arbitrators appointed under the said Act,
seventy-eight one-hundredths of a penny (78/100ths d.)
in the pound.

Class C: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as
Class C by the arbitrators appointed under the said Act,
thirty-nine one-hundredths of a penny (39/100ths d.) in
the pound.

Class D: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as
Class D by the arbitrators appointed under the said Act,
thirteen one-hundredths of a penny (13/100ths d.) in the
pound.
