Exempting certain Native Lands from Rates.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 6th day of February, 1928.
Present :
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. COATES, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS under the provisions of section one hundred and four of the Rating Act, 1925, and as therein mentioned, the Governor-General may from time to time, for the reasons therein specified, exempt any Native land liable to rates from all or any part of such rates :

And whereas it is desirable that such power should be exercised in respect of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said Act and of every other power thereunto him enabling, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby exempt the Native land named in the Schedule hereto from all rates made or levied by any local authority under the provisions of the Rating Act, 1925.

SCHEDULE.
PAEROA 2G No. 1 Block : Area, 19 acres 2 roods 22 perches, Blocks XIII and XVII, Opoiti Survey District, Wairoa County.

Extending Time for holding Election of Trustees for Otekaike Drainage District.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 6th day of February, 1928.
Present :
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. COATES, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section ten of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, it is provided that on the first Monday in the month of November in the year following the year in which the first trustees for any drainage districts are elected, and on the same day in each succeeding third year thereafter, an election of trustees for each district shall be held :

And whereas an election of trustees for the Otekaike Drainage District should have been held on the seventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven :

And whereas it is expedient to extend the time for holding such election of trustees for the Otekeike Drainage District :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section twenty-two of the Land Drainage Amendment Act, 1922, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby extend the time for holding the aforesaid election of trustees for the Otekaike Drainage District ; and doth hereby order and declare that in the aforesaid drainage district the said election shall be held and take place on Monday, the twenty-seventh day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight.

Extending Prohibition of Alienation of certain Native Land other than Alienation in favour of the Crown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 6th day of February, 1928.
Present :
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. COATES, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of six months the Order in Council dated the twenty-first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, and gazetted the twenty-fourth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, prohibiting all alienation of the Native land specified in the Schedule hereto, other than alienation in favour of the Crown.

WAHINE Rukuwai No. 2B Block, Waitoa Survey District : Approximate area, 12 acres 0 roods 30 perches.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of six months the Order in Council dated the twenty-first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, and gazetted the twenty-fourth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, prohibiting all alienation of the Native land specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienation in favour of the Crown.

ORUATEWEHI No. 2 Block, Kaingaroa Survey District : Approximate area, 44 acres.
