In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of JOSEPH CLARKE AND CO., LTD.

At an extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the above company, held on the 12th day of December, 1927, the following resolution was passed:—
“That the company be wound up voluntarily and that Mr. PERCY NORMAN QUARTERMAIN, of Christchurch, Accountant, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator.”

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and their Amendments.

Notice is hereby given that the Wellington City Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, for the purposes of an access-way between Otaki Street and Townsend Road, in the City of Wellington—and for the purpose of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such land should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

SCHEDULE.

All that piece of land containing 1 rood 19·72 perches, being the parcel of land marked “Reserve” on D.F. 1463, and being part Section 10, Watts Peninsula R.D.; coloured on plan, red; situate in City of Wellington.

Notice is hereby given that the Wellington City Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, street widening at Thorndon Quay in the City of Wellington—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such lands should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Wellington proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, for water-works purposes, Upper Kaiwarra, in the City of Wellington—and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such lands should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

PAPAKURA TOWN BOARD.

DECLARATION OF POLL TO ADOPT SYSTEM OF RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUE.

Pursuant to section 42 of the Rating Act, 1925, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Papakura Town District taken on the 21st day of December, 1927, on the proposal that the system of rating in the said Town District be on the unimproved value the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 195; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 223. I therefore declare the proposal was rejected.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908.

Notice is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company, held upon the 8th day of December, 1927, the following special resolution was passed, and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the said company, held upon the 23rd day of December, 1927, the said resolution was duly confirmed, namely:—
“That it is desirable to reconstruct the company, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that ALFRED HERMAN GYLLIES, of Auckland, Accountant, be hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”
