HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased, in pursuance of section 7 of the Forests Act, 1921-22, to reappoint Leon MacIntosh Ellis, Esquire, B.Sc.F. to be the Director of Forestry for a period of three years as from 8th January, 1928.

To be Clerk of the Magistrates' Court at Greymouth for the purposes of the Magistrates' Courts Act, 1908, Clerk of the Warden's Courts, Receiver of Gold Revenue and Mining Registrar at Greymouth and Ahaura for the Westland Mining District, constituted under the Mining Act, 1926, Registrar at Greymouth of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, and Sheriff for the District of Westland, for the purposes of the Judicature Act, 1908; to be Local Patent Officer at Greymouth for the purposes of section 15 of the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1921-22; and to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Grey, as from the 20th day of December, 1927.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, Borough of Kaiapoi.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be included in the Borough of Kaiapoi and excluded from the County of Eyre. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF KAIAPOL.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the eastern side of Peraki Street with the southern side of Ohoka Road; thence south-easterly along the southern side of Ohoka Road, crossing Willock Street and North Road to a point 1054·4 links distant from the eastern side of North Road; thence along a right line bearing 198° 43' 30" distance 1401·5 links, bearing 288° 37' distance 525·7 links; thence along a line parallel to the eastern side of North Road for a distance of 300 links; thence bearing 288° 37' distance 500 links to the eastern side of North Road; thence across North Road and southerly along its western side to a point 2277 links from Ohoka Road; thence 72·4 links to the north-eastern side of Cemetery Road; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern side of Cemetery Road, crossing Willock Street to Peraki Street; thence northerly along the eastern side of Peraki Street to Ohoka Road, the place of commencement.

Special Order made by the Waimea County Council merging Road Districts.

Wellington, 21st December, 1927.
THE following special order, made by the Waimea County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920.

Acting Minister of Internal Affairs.
SPECIAL ORDER MERGING ROAD BOARDS.
"That whereas the capital value of all rateable property in all the road district in the Waimea County is less than one-half of the capital value of all rateable property in the county, the Waimea County Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 30 of the Counties Act, 1920, as amended by section 4 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1927, resolves by way of special order that on and after the 1st day of May, 1928, the Road Boards of the following Road Districts, namely:-
Suburban North,
Stoke,
Waimea West,
Dovedale,
Upper Moutere, and
Riwaka
shall be dissolved, and such road districts shall be merged in the Waimea County."
I hereby certify that the above Special Order has been duly made.
