Banks Peninsula Rabbit-proof Fencing District abolished.—Notice No. Ag. 2702.


CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section eighty-six of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is provided that the Governor-General may from time to time abolish any rabbit-proof fencing district constituted under the said Act, and shall make such apportionment or other disposition of assets and liabilities as he deems just:

And whereas a petition has been received from a majority of the ratepayers therein praying for the abolition of the Banks Peninsula Rabbit-proof Fencing District constituted by Warrant executed by His Excellency the Governor on the eighteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and eight, and published in the Gazette of the twentieth day of the same month, at page 644, and it is deemed expedient to give effect to the prayer of such petition:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, do hereby abolish the Banks Peninsula Rabbit-proof Fencing District, and direct and declare that all the assets of the said district shall vest in and all the liabilities thereof shall be assumed by the Board of Trustees of the Banks Peninsula Rabbit District constituted under Part III of the said Act by Order in Council dated the twenty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 30th day of December, 1927.

PURSUANT to the authority vested in me by section sixty-five of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, and by an Order in Council of the twenty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, as amended by Order in Council of the twenty-first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, establishing (inter alia) an Island Council for the Island of Rarotonga in the Cook Islands, and determining the constitution thereof, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby nominate and appoint.

Tangiiia Paroro Mataiapo, and
William Parau Browne,

of Rarotonga, to be members of the said Island Council of Rarotonga, in lieu of Paeara and Tepuretu Mataiapo, both deceased, to hold office during my pleasure as from the date hereof.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke certain Warrants dated the fifteenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred, the nineteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and four, the fourteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and ten, and the eleventh day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, and gazetted on the thirtieth day of August, one thousand nine hundred, the twentieth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and four, the sixteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and ten, and the seventeenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, respectively, appointing trustees for the Stafford Public Cemetery, as described in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

STAFFORD PUBLIC CEMETERY.—WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Westland Land District, containing by estimation 2 acres 1 rood 17 perches, more or less, being Reserve 147, situated in Block XIV, Waimea Survey District. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 2/185 deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section thirteen of the Defence Amendment Act, 1912, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the undermentioned officer to convene General or District Courts-martial for the trial under that Act of such persons subject to military law as are for the time being under or within the territorial limits of his command, and empower such officer to confirm the findings and sentences of General or District Courts-martial, whether passed before or after the issue of this Warrant:—

Colonel (Temp. Colonel-Commandant) J. H. Whyte, D.S.O., D.C.M., N.Z. Staff Corps, while holding the appointment of Officer Commanding the Central Command. Dated 16th December, 1927.
