At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 21st day of December, 1927.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Christchurch City Council, on the twenty-first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, viz:—
“That the Christchurch City Council, having control of Catherine Street in the City of Christchurch, hereby by resolution declares that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to the said street ”;
subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land fronting the said street (described in the Schedule hereto), within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the said street, such condition being of the same effect as section thirty-five of the Christchurch By-law No. 1, relating to building-line.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that street situated in the Canterbury Land District, City of Christchurch, known as Catherine Street, commencing at its junction with River Road and terminating at its junction with Ferry Road. As the said street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 70492, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Amending Regulations under the Fireblight Act, 1922, declaring Commercial Fruitgrowing Districts, and prescribing Time and Manner in which Hawthorn in such Districts shall be dealt with.—No. Ag. 2700.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the Fireblight Act, 1922 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following regulations in amendment of the Fireblight Regulations, 1927, published in the Gazette on the 19th day of May last at page 1469 (hereinafter called “the principal regulations”), and doth declare that this Order in Council shall take effect from the date of publication hereof in the Gazette.
REGULATIONS.

THESE regulations may be cited as “The Fireblight Regulations, 1927, Amendment No. 1.”

The Second Schedule to the principal regulations is hereby amended as follows:—
(1) By deleting the first three lines thereof—that is to say, the following words: “the Thames District, the Greytown District, and the following parts of the Waitemata, Albany, and Hawke’s Bay Districts respectively,” and inserting in lieu thereof the following words: “The Whangarei District, the Greytown District, and the following parts of the Thames, Waitemata, Albany, and Hawke’s Bay Districts respectively.”
(2) By adding thereto the following additional words:—
“Part of Thames District.
“The Thames District, as defined in the First Schedule, with the exception of the following area: All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Tararu Stream in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 4, Block 1, Thames Survey District; thence down that stream to a point about 3400 links from its mouth; thence south-westerly along a public road for a distance of approximately 1600 links; thence south-easterly along a public road for a distance of approximately 1200 links; thence along a right line to a point in the middle of the Karaka Stream in line with the junction of Sandes Street and Karaka Road; thence up the middle of that stream to the south-west corner of Karaka South No. 1 Block; thence along the south-west boundaries generally of Karaka South No. 1, Hape North No. 1, Hape North No. 2, Hape South No. 1, and Native land to the north-western boundary of the Church Missionary Society’s block; thence along the north-western, north-eastern, and south-eastern boundaries of that block to the southernmost corner of the Rifle Range Reserve; thence south-easterly generally along the road forming the south-western boundaries of the Rifle Range Reserve and Mangakirikiri No. 3 Block to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by a line running due south to the Kauaeranga River; thence up the aforesaid river to the northernmost corner of the Pikiwahine Block; thence along the north-eastern boundary of that block, and the eastern and northern boundaries of Block No. 5345 to the eastern boundary of the Kawamotu Block; thence along the eastern and north-eastern boundaries of that block and the eastern boundaries of the Mangakirikiri No. 3 Block to its northernmost corner; thence by a right line to the Tararu Stream at the point of commencement. Also all that area bounded on the north-east by the Taparahi 3 No. 2 Block, on the south-east by the Tarukinikini Block and on the south-west by Blocks 6193, 6192, and 6190 to the Kirikiri Stream, and on the north-west by the Kirikiri Stream.”

The Third Schedule to the principal regulations is hereby amended by inserting before the word “Waitemata” in the second line thereof the word “Thames.”

The Third Schedule to the principal regulations is hereby further amended by adding thereto the following additional words:—
