Prescribing the Rate of Interest that may be paid by the Wairewa County Council in respect of a Loan of £1,500, authorized to be raised for metalling Roads in the Kinloch Riding.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 7th day of February, 1927.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE W. NOSWORTHY PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and fourteen of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, it is provided that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any Act or in any rule of law, where a local authority or public body has been authorized before the passing of the said Act, or is thereafter authorized, to borrow money, whether pursuant to a poll of ratepayers or otherwise howsoever, whether the rate of interest or the term of years of the loan was or was not specified or determined, and such money or any part thereof has not been borrowed, the local authority or public body may, with the precedent consent of the Minister of Finance, borrow such money, or such amount thereof as has not been borrowed, at such rate of interest, or for such term, as may be prescribed by the Governor-General by Order in Council:
And whereas the Wairewa County Council has been authorized to borrow the sum of one thousand five hundred pounds for metalling roads in the Kinloch Riding:
And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his precedent consent as required by the above-recited section one hundred and fourteen, and it is desired that the rate of interest at which the money may be borrowed be not exceeding six per centum per annum:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him as aforesaid, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prescribe that the rate of interest that may be paid by the Wairewa County Council in respect of the said sum of one thousand five hundred pounds shall be a rate not exceeding six per centum per annum, and the said Wairewa County Council is hereby authorized to borrow the said sum of one thousand five hundred pounds accordingly.

Prescribing the Rate of Interest that may be paid by the Waitomo County Council in respect of a Loan of £330, authorized to be raised for the Purpose of completing the Reforming, Culverting, and Metalling of about Ten Miles of the Ahoroa Road.

And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his precedent consent as required by the above-recited section one hundred and fourteen, and it is desired that the rate of interest at which the money may be borrowed be not exceeding six per centum per annum:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him as aforesaid, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prescribe that the rate of interest that may be paid by the Waitomo County Council in respect of the said loan of three hundred and thirty pounds shall be a rate not exceeding six per centum per annum, and the said Waitomo County Council is hereby authorized to borrow the said sum of three hundred and thirty pounds accordingly.

Opening Lands in the Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Piako County.—Waitoa Survey District.
SECTION 9, Block V: Area, 305 acres. Capital value, £150. Deferred payments: Deposit, £10; half-yearly instalment, £4 11s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £3.
