NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—HAURAKI GULF.—
WHANGAREI HARBOUR.
Annoyance Point: Lighted Beacon established.
Date of establishment: On 3rd January, 1928; without further notice.
Position: At the northern edge of the main channel, 303°·9, 2½ miles from Single Tree Point lighted beacon. Annoyance Point extremity 086°·2, Single Tree Point extremity 128°·4. Lat. 35° 47′·6 S., long. 174° 24′·9 E. (approx.), on Chart No. 2047.
Abridged description: Fl. R. ev. 5 sec. (U).
Character: Flashing red every five seconds thus: Flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 4⅔ secs.
Elevation: 9 ft. (2ᵐ74).
Visibility: 5 miles (8Km).
Structure: Four-pile beacon.
Remarks: The arc of the light is uninterrupted. The beacon has been erected in a depth of 4 ft. at M.L.W.S.

West Pass: Beacon erected.
Position: On the southern side of the entrance and at a distance of 1·48 cables 336° from the observation spot Δ. Lat 9° 00′ S., long. 158° 03′ W. (approx.).
Description: Beacon with triangular topmark.

SOUTH PACIFIC OCEAN.—FIJI ISLANDS.
Suva Harbour: Caution re Vessels Anchoring.
Position: Suva, lat. 18° 08′ S., long. 178° 26′ E. (approx.).
Caution: The limits within which vessels are warned not to anchor, owing to the existence of telegraph cables, have been extended and are now as follows:—
Northern limit—By a line drawn from a position (a) 1·68 cables 245° from R.C. cathedral, through a position (b) 2·05 cables 261° from the cathedral, in a 305° direction for a distance of 1·22 miles.
Southern limit—By a line drawn from a position (c) 3·38 cables 203° from R.C. cathedral, through a position (d) 3·60 cables 227° from the cathedral, in a 297° direction for a distance of 1·21 miles.
Remarks: A beacon with a white triangle marked “cable” and exhibiting a fixed red light has been established in positions (a) and (b), respectively. Abridged description “Bⁿ. F.R.” in each case.
A similar beacon exhibiting a fixed green light has been established in positions (c) and (d), respectively. Abridged description “Bⁿ. F.G.” in each case.
NOTE.—The charts are to be amended accordingly.

Piako River Entrance Light.
(1) Location of light.
(2) Red sector introduced.
(3) Leading beacon lights discontinued.
Former notice: No. 42 of 1927.
(1) Location: At the outer entrance to Piako River. Lat. 37° 10′ 18″ S., long. 175° 29′ 24″ E., on chart No. 1108.
(2) Red sector introduced: The light shows red from 168° through south to 348°; white elsewhere.
Remarks: The sector line projects near the middle of the navigable channel between Piako River entrance points.
(3) Leading beacon lights discontinued: The two leading beacon lights formerly exhibited from the Pipiroa or western side of Piako River have been discontinued.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Land in Hawke’s Bay Land District forfeited.

NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the under-mentioned land having been declared forfeited by resolution of the Hawke’s Bay Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and amendments.
