At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 14th day of
November, 1927.

COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
conferred on him by section three of the Public Revenues
Act, 1926, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth
hereby amend the regulations made under the said Act on
the twenty-fifth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and
twenty-seven, and published in the Gazette on the same date
at page 2503, in manner appearing in the Schedule hereto ;
and doth direct that the amendment hereby made shall form
part of and be read with the aforesaid regulations, and shall
come into force on the date of publication hereof in the
Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
REGULATION No. 51 is hereby amended by inserting, after the
words “Claims for stores must,” the following additional
words : “Unless the Paymaster-General otherwise directs.”

Validating Proceedings in connection with a Loan of Five
Thousand Pounds (£5,000) proposed to be raised by the
Whangaroa County Council.

COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Whangaroa County Council, acting under
and in pursuance of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1926, proposes to raise a loan of five thousand pounds (£5,000),
authorized by a poll of ratepayers taken on the twelfth day of
February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, for
the purpose of constructing a wharf at Whangaroa (four
thousand pounds) and a wharf at Totara North (one thousand
pounds) :
And whereas the proceedings are irregular in that in the
advertisements giving notice of intention to raise loan, notice
of poll, and advertising result of poll, and in the voting-paper
the loan is purported to be raised under the provisions of the
Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, instead of under the provisions
of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926 :
And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been
misled by the irregularity or defect aforesaid, and it is ex-
pedient to validate the same :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authorities conferred on him by section one hun-
dred and twenty-two of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926,
and acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order
and declare that the proceedings taken shall be valid to all
intents and purposes as though the said Act had been correctly
cited in the said advertisements and voting-paper, and that
the validity of the proceedings in connection with the said
loan shall not be called into question by reason only of the
irregularity or defect aforesaid.

WHEREAS by section nine of the Crimes Amendment
Act, 1910, it is enacted that there shall be constituted
a Board to be called the “ Prisons Board,” consisting of not
less than three nor more than seven persons : And whereas
by the said section it is provided that the members of the
Board shall be appointed from time to time by the Governor-
General in Council :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the power and authority conferred upon him by the Crimes
Amendment Act, 1910, and of every other power and authority
enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby appoint
Sir William Alexander Sim, Kt.
to be a member of the Prisons Board constituted under the
Crimes Amendment Act, 1910, as aforesaid.

Notice of Change of the Purpose of a Reserve in Rangiora
Survey District, Canterbury Land District.
CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by section six of the Public Reserves and
Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the
said Act”), the Governor-General is empowered, in the case
of any public reserve vested in His Majesty or the Governor-
General for any of the purposes comprised in Class II of the
Second Schedule to the said Act, to change the purpose for
which such reserve was set apart to any other purpose :
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto
has been duly set apart as a reserve for a rifle range at
Rangiora, being a purpose within Class II of the Second
Schedule to the said Act, and it is expedient to change, as
hereinafter provided, the purpose of such reserve so set
apart :
Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do
hereby, in pursuance of the powers conferred on me by
section six of the said Act as aforesaid, declare that the
purpose of the reservation over the reserve described in the
Schedule hereto is hereby changed to a reserve for river-
protection purposes. And I do hereby further declare that
this notice is issued subject to the provisions of section seven
of the said Act, and shall take effect according to the pro-
visions of that section.
SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.
RESERVE 958, Block VI, Rangiora Survey District : Area,
20 acres, more or less.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 11th day of November, 1927.

Survey District, Taranaki Land District, set apart as a Site
for a Public School.

WHEREAS by section five of the Education Reserves
Amendment Act, 1911, it is enacted that the Governor-
General may, on the recommendation of the Land Board of
the district in which are situated any reserves or endowments
vested in the Crown by or in pursuance of section two of the
Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1910, set apart as sites
for public schools, secondary schools, or technical schools any
part of such reserve or endowments :
And whereas the Land Board of the Taranaki Land District
has duly passed a resolution recommending that the primary-
education endowment described in the Schedule hereto should
be set apart as a site for a public school, and it is expedient to
give effect to such recommendation :
