Triennial Election of Members of Teachers' Superannuation Board.
Education Department,
Wellington, 8th February, 1927.
IN pursuance of regulations made under the Public Service
Classification and Superannuation Amendment Act,
1908, I hereby certify that for the triennial election of
members of the Teachers' Superannuation Board constituted
by the said Act the following nominations were received: For
the North Island, Francis Albert Garry and George Rudal
Kidson; for the South Island, John Ernest Purchase and
Herbert Charles Jones.
As the number of persons nominated does not exceed the
number of vacancies to be filled, I hereby declare that Francis
Albert Garry, George Rudal Kidson, John Ernest Purchase,
and Herbert Charles Jones are duly elected members of the
said Board.

Department of Trade and Customs, Melbourne, is
published for general information.

Astronomical positions are approximate unless seconds are
given. All bearings are True and in degrees from 000° (North)
to 359° measured clockwise, and those relating to lights are from
seaward. Visibility of lights is that in clear weather. Fog
signals are sounded only during thick or foggy weather. Elevation given is the height of focal plane above mean H.W. springs.
AUSTRALIA.—NORTH-WEST COAST.—MARY ANNE PASSAGE.—SANDY CAY.
Intended New Light (U).
MARINERS and others are hereby notified that a Flashing
White Light (U) will be established on Sandy Cay on or about
16th May, 1927.
Previous Notices—No. 18 and No. 22 of 1926.
Position—On the north-east side of the northern sand
cay southward of Flinders Shoal. Lat. 21° 15½' S. Long.
115° 27½' E. on Chart No. 3186.
Details.
Character—Flashing White every three seconds, thus:
Flash, ⅓ sec.; eclipse, 2⅔ secs.
Elevation—20 ft.
Power—1,500 candles.
Visibility—9½ miles.
Structure—White lantern on piles, 25 ft. in height.
Remarks.—The light will be unwatched. Further notice will
be given when the light has been established.

AUSTRALIA, EAST COAST.—SANDY CAPE TO KEPPEL ISLANDS.
Amended Positions of Islands in Capricorn Group.
Locality.—Latitude, 23° 30' south. Longitude, 152° 8' east.
Details.—North Reef Lighthouse, and the S.W. corners of
the following islands of the Capricorn Group, have been found
to lie as follows from their charted positions:—
North Reef Lighthouse .. .. 253° 1·2 miles.
Wilson Island .. .. .. 251° 1·0 „
Wreck Island .. .. .. 242° 1·1 „
Heron Island .. .. .. 269° 0·7 „
Masthead Island .. .. .. 023° 0·3 „
Erskine Island .. .. .. 144° 0·2 „
North West Island .. .. 232° 0·6 „
Tryon Island .. .. .. 228° 0·7 „
- Lady Elliott Island is reported to lie two or three miles
westward of its present charted position. A note to this effect
should be placed alongside this island.
Caution.—Care should be taken when navigating this area,
as other islands in this locality may be similarly out of position.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned education reserves will be offered for lease by public auction
at the Lands Office, Hamilton, at 11 o'clock a.m. on Wednesday, 30th March, 1927, under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1908, and the Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908,
and amendments.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
Subdivision of Section 56, Town of Hamilton.
Lot 1: Area, 22·73 perches. Upset annual rent, £12.
Lot 4: Area, 14·74 perches. Upset annual rent, £30.
Lot 5: Area, 23·84 perches. Upset annual rent, £50.
Lot 6: Area, 9·54 perches. Upset annual rent, £18.
Lot 1 has a frontage to Hillsborough Terrace, an unformed
roadway, and overlooks the Waikato River. Suitable for a
residential site.
Lots 4, 5, and 6 are adjacent to the post-office, and have a
frontage to Grantham Street; suitable for business sites.
Section 68, Town of Cambridge East.—Area: 1 acre.
Upset annual rental, £2.
The section has a steep terrace and gully on the lower flat
fronting Alpha Street, with sufficient ground for a house and
small garden.
Waitomo County—Orahiri Survey District.—Second-class land.
Section 2, Block I: Area, 910 acres. Upset annual rent, £28.
Situated about twenty-one miles from Otorohanga Railway-station and nine miles from Te Rau-a-moa School and Post-office. Approximately 710 acres felled and grassed, about 60
acres of fair pasture. Remaining balance, 200 acres bush
land. Watered by running streams. Section very broken.
Contains approximately 250 chains fencing in poor repair.
Four-roomed house and wool-shed (no value).
Section 7, Block III: Area, 482 acres 3 roods 16 perches.
Upset annual rent, £35.
Situated five miles from Otorohanga Railway-station and
one mile from Te Rau Maku School. About 20 acres in good
pasture; 30 acres worn-out pasture, 40 acres fern land,
ploughed, reverted to fern. 393 acres fern, manuka, and tutu.
The land is suitable for mixed farming. Subdivided into four
paddocks. Improvements comprise 223 chains boundary and
internal fencing in poor order. House (two rooms), cow-shed.
Maungamangero Survey District.
Section 3, Block IV: Area, 1,584 acres 0 roods 3 perches.
Upset annual rent, £55.
The improvements comprise two-roomed whare and milking-shed, approximately 300 chains fencing, 600 acres bush
felled and grassed. Situated about twenty miles from Te
Kuiti Railway-station and store; four miles from Mairoa
School and Post-office. Suitable for grazing. Ragwort and
Canadian thistle in evidence, and grassed area is reverting to
second growth.
