Weighted with £17 10s. valuation for improvements, consisting of iron shack, unlined, 10 ft. by 8 ft., and 7½ chains of fencing in good condition, 6 wires, kauri posts, no battens. Situated on an unformed by-road, four miles from the Town of Silverdale, one mile and a half from Redvale Post-office, and three miles and a half from Dairy Flat School. Nearly all ploughable, 12 acres having been ploughed, but now reverted to scrub. Soil is clay resting on clay formation. No water on section.

Waitemata County.—Paremoremo Parish.

Section 299. Area: 30 acres 1 rood 30 perches. Capital value, £95. Deferred payments: Deposit, £5; half-yearly instalment, £2 18s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent: £1 18s.

Weighted with £37 10s. valuation for improvements, consisting of two-roomed lean-to 29 ft. by 12 ft., brick chimney, old orion stove, iron roof. Rooms lined, but not papered. No ceiling.

Situated on by-road off the Ridge Road, between Takapuna and Silverdale. Access is from Albany two miles and a half distant. Good metalled road to within half a mile of section. Land is all undulating, and about 1¼ acres around the building has once been ploughed. Faces the south-west. Soil is clay on clay formation. Watered by creek. Altitude 200 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level.

Great Barrier Island County.—Aotea Parish.

Sections N.E. 47, S.E. 48 and 49. Area: 242 acres. Capital value, £185. Deferred payments: Deposit, £10; half-yearly instalment, £5 13s. 9d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £3 14s.

Section situated about two miles from Tryphena Harbour by unformed road. Very broken and stony country, covered with mixed bush, containing a fair amount of puriri. Land well watered. Altitude, 150 ft. to 900 ft. above sea-level.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Tuesday, the fifth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof.

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Hawke’s Bay County.—Maungaharuru Survey District.—Part Purahotangihia Block.

Sections 2 and 6, Block VII: Area, 1,138 acres. Capital value, £1,420. Deferred payments: Deposit, £71; half-yearly instalment, £43 16s. 11d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £28 8s.

Section 3, Block XI: Area, 1,231 acres. Capital value, £1,540. Deferred payments: Deposit, £77; half-yearly instalment, £47 11s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £30 16s.

Section 4, Block XI: Area, 949 acres. Capital value, £1,190. Deferred payments: Deposit, £59 10s.; half-yearly instalment, £36 14s. 10d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £23 16s.

Section 5, Block XI: Area, 1,115 acres. Capital value, £1,950. Deferred payments: Deposit, £97 10s.; half-yearly instalment, £60 4s. 2d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £39.

Section 1, Block XII: Area, 1,060 acres. Capital value, £1,590. Deferred payments: Deposit, £79 10s.; half-yearly instalment, £49 1s. 10d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £31 16s.

The block is distant from Napier about twenty-three miles by a good metalled road. The sections are well served generally, with access by two metalled roads; one known as the Makomako Road traverses the whole of the block in a north-westerly direction, the other, Main Wairoa Road, runs in a north-easterly direction from the southern end of the block across the Waikoau River. The East Coast Main Trunk Railway is nearing completion from Napier to the Waikoau River, and traverses the lower sections. The land generally is easy, undulating, covered for the most part with fern and manuka on light pumiceous soil. There are two stock-proof gorges in the lower portion, and the whole block generally is fairly well watered. Each section possesses a good homestead site, and portions are ploughable.

Section 16, Block XI. Area, 25 acres 3 roods 35 perches. Capital value, £20. Deferred payments: Deposit, £1; half-yearly instalment, 12s. 4d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, 8s.

Weighted with £4 10s. valuation for improvements consisting of fencing.

Situated about one mile and a half from Taieri Mouth Post-office, three to four miles from school, and about seven miles from Waihola Railway-station, on the Southern Trunk Railway. The land is of inferior quality, the surface being rough and broken.
