with a bank or otherwise, for the purpose of enabling the said body corporate to liquidate existing liabilities in respect of, and to further improve and more efficiently farm, the lands of the said body corporate, the sum set out hereunder opposite the name of such body corporate; and doth authorize the payment of any money so borrowed to the committee of management of the said body corporate; and doth consent to any instrument of alienation by way of mortgage of the lands of the said body corporate, given in pursuance of this Order in Council being confirmed by the Tairawhiti District Maori Land Board.

Conferring Special Jurisdiction on the Native Land Court.

WHEREAS by section twenty-five of the Native Land Act, 1909, it is enacted that, in addition to the jurisdiction elsewhere conferred upon the Native Land Court, the Governor-General may by Order in Council confer upon the Court jurisdiction in any matter or question affecting the rights of Natives in any real or personal property:

And whereas it is expedient to confer upon the Court the said jurisdiction as hereinafter appears:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority hereinbefore mentioned, and all other powers thereunto him enabling, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby confer upon the Native Land Court jurisdiction to hear and determine as between Natives any claim, whether at law or in equity, to the ownership or possession of a flock of sheep now running or depasturing on the block situate in the Gisborne district, known as Marangairoa 1d 19 Block (Kiriheke) and Marangairoa 1d 5 Block (Kautuku), which said sheep are alleged to have been under the control or management of Piripi Rairi, deceased, and to hear and determine as between Natives any claim to recover damages in respect thereof, with power and jurisdiction to make such order or orders as the circumstances of the case may require, and to enforce compliance therewith as fully and effectively as if the order was one within the ordinary jurisdiction of the Court.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke an Order in Council dated the twenty-fifth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and published in the Gazette of the thirtieth day of that month, appointing a Domain Board to have control of the Darfield Domain, and doth hereby appoint
