THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

and authorities enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the name of the locality known as “Maxwell-town,” in the County of Waitotara, shall be and the same is hereby altered to “Maxwell,” and do assign the last-mentioned name to such locality accordingly; and also do hereby proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on the first day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, not being earlier than six months after the first publication thereof in the Gazette.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand; and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 19th day of January, 1927.

Crown Land set apart for Disposal by way of Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers, under Special Tenures, in the Auckland Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section four of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby set apart and declared open for disposal by way of sale or lease to discharged soldiers, under special tenures, in the manner provided in the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
SECTIONS 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6, Block XIV, Whitianga Survey District: Area, 1,117 acres 2 roods 5 perches.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by subsections nine and ten of section twelve of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that from and after the date hereof the land described in the First Schedule hereto, being a piece of road closed and a piece of land taken, and being land which is adjacent to the endowment for secondary education described in the Second Schedule hereto, shall be deemed to be added to the said endowment.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood 23 perches, more or less, being Section 154, Tarurutangi District, Block X, Paritutu Survey District, and being a piece of road closed and a piece of land taken by Proclamation published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 73, 28th October, 1926, page 3012, and bounded as follows: Towards the north and towards the east by part Section 32 of the said Tarurutangi District, 2003·9 links; and towards the west by Upland Road, 2007·9 links: Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. & S. 16/1401 deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered pink.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 176 acres 3 roods, more or less, being that part of Section 32, Tarurutangi District bounded on the north by Section 31, on the east by part Section 36 and by Section 37, on the south by other part Section 32, and on the west by Section 154 and by a public road (permanently set aside as an endowment for secondary education by notice published in the New Zealand Gazette of 1889, page 192).
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 5th day of February, 1927.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section three of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the Proclamation made on the third day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and published in the Gazette of the tenth day of March then instant, setting apart Crown lands for selection by discharged soldiers, under the Land Act, 1924, in so far as it relates to the land in the Schedule hereto.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, the Public Works Amendment Act, 1923, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the road desired to be constructed over Blocks III, IV, and VIII, Patetere North Survey District—viz., a deviation of the Hamilton to Rotorua Main Highway—shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.
