Lands temporarily reserved in the Auckland Land District for Resting-places for Travelling-stock.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Auckland Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for resting-places for travelling-stock.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being Section 6, Block IV, Whitianga Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Crown land, 1089·2 links; towards the north-east generally by the Marama Stream and by Crown land, 367·6 links; towards the south-east by Tapu-Coroglen Road, 893·3 links; and towards the south-west by another road, 1036·6 links: Be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/1/433, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland plan, No. 24432.)

Also all that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 9 acres 3 roods 33 perches, more or less, being part Section 1, Block XII, Hastings Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west and north-east by other part Section 1, Block XII, Hastings Survey District, 1497·1 and 561·9 links respectively, and towards the south-east and south-west generally by Tapu-Coroglen Road, 304·6, 335·3, 463·0, 339·7, 636·8, and 254·9 links: Be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/1/433A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. Primary-education Endowment Land in the Borough of Palmerston North, Wellington Land District, set apart as a Site for a Technical School.

WHEREAS by section five of the Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1911, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, on the recommendation of the Land Board of the district in which are situated any reserves or endowments vested in the Crown by or in pursuance of section two of the Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1910, set apart as sites for public schools, secondary schools, or technical schools any part of such reserve or endowment:

And whereas the Land Board of the Wellington Land District has duly passed a resolution recommending that the primary-education endowment described in the Schedule hereto should be set apart as a site for a technical school, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Acts aforesaid, do hereby set apart the primary-education endowment described in the Schedule hereto as a site for a technical school.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area situated in the Borough of Palmerston North, in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement an area of 4 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Suburban Section 201, Township of Palmerston. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/493, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 4th day of November, 1927.

Notifying the proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the North Auckland Land District for other Land.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and sixty of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor-General, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive any sum by way of equality of exchange:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto for the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such exchange:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby declare it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District containing by admeasurement 3 roods 6 perches, more or less, being Allotment 261, Parish of Mareretu, County of Otamatea, as the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S. 16/1450A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged blue. (North Auckland, plan 23735.)

SECOND SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District containing by admeasurement 31 perches, more or less, being portion of Allotment 76, Parish of Mareretu, County of Otamatea, as the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S. 16/1450A deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (North Auckland, plan 23735.)

Opening Settlement Lands in North Auckland Land District for Selection.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the ninth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Bay of Islands County.—Omapere Survey District.—Remuera Settlement.

SECTIONS 13s and 19s: Area, 144 acres 0 roods 39 perches. Capital value, £1,250; £200*. Half-yearly rent, £31 5s.; £12 19s.†

  • Valuation for buildings.

† Half-yearly instalment of principal and interest on buildings, consisting of house of two rooms and lean-to (rimu timber, iron roof, “Champion” stove), washhouse (kauri and iron), six-bail cow-byre (rimu and iron, concrete floor), and separator-room, valued at £200, to be paid for in cash or in ten years by twenty half-yearly instalments of £12 19s. each. Total half-yearly payment on lease, £44 4s.

Situated about six miles from Kaikohe Railway-station, five miles from Kaikohe School, and nine miles from Ohaeawa Dairy-factory. About 80 acres bush land felled and grassed,
