towards the river-flat. Land has been grassed and fenced. The section has been used as a garden. Soil is of good quality, resting on limestone formation.

Town of Levin.

Section 20, Block XVIII : Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £130. This section is a good building-site, and is within easy distance of Levin Post-office and Railway-station. It has a frontage to Bath Street. The soil is of light formation, inclined to be stony in places.

Block XII, Wairoa Survey District.—Waitotara Township.

Part Lot 5, D.P. No. 10, part of Section 299 : Area, 15 perches. Upset price, £30.

This section comprises flat land, and being situated about one mile from Waitotara Railway-station on the Main North Road. There is an old building of six rooms on the property in a bad state of decay, and of no value.

FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Waimarino County.—Makotuku Survey District.

Section 48, Block VI : Area, 8 acres 1 rood 26 perches. Upset price, £250.

Weighted with £26, valuation for improvements consisting of 20 chains of fencing at 10s. per chain and 16 chains at £1 chain.

Situated in the Borough of Raetihi, about one mile and a half from the railway-station ; one mile twenty-six chains by metalled dray-road, the remainder by formed dray-road. Comprises two acres and a half of flat land, somewhat wet ; the balance hilly and broken. About half the area is in poor grass, the remainder milled bush and second growth. Soil is of good clay, resting on papa formation.

SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Kiwitea County.—Umutoi Survey District.

Section 29, Block I : Area, 33 acres 2 roods 17 perches. Upset price, £100.

Situated in the Marton No. 2 Homestead Block, and has a frontage to Conspicuous Road. Access is from the Township of Rangiwahia, which is seven miles distant. The land is fairly level, and is well watered by Scandlyn Creek. Section has reverted somewhat to second growth and fern.

Kaitieke County.—Kaitieke Survey District.

Section 21, Block XII : Area, 7 acres 3 roods 30 perches. Upset price, £12 10s.

Weighted with £5, valuation for improvements consisting of ten chains of fencing.

Situated on the left bank of the Tepure River, about half a mile from Raurimu Railway-station by dray-road. Practically all hilly, with a little low-lying and swampy ground adjoining the stream. Soil is of light quality, resting on sandstone formation.

Warrant authorizing the Riverton Borough Council to construct a Bridge over the Aparima River at Riverton (together with Approaches thereto), and apportioning the Cost.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by section one hundred and nineteen of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the Riverton Borough Council to construct the bridge (together with approaches thereto) described in the Schedule hereto ; and I do also declare that the cost thereof, less such contribution (if any) as may be made thereto by the Government of New Zealand, shall be borne by the Riverton Borough Council, the Wallace County Council, the Invercargill Borough Council, and the Southland County Council in the following proportions, viz : The Riverton Borough Council shall pay fifty per centum, the Wallace County Council shall pay twenty-seven per centum, the Invercargill Borough Council shall pay seventeen per centum, and the Southland County Council shall pay six per centum of such cost respectively ; and I do further direct that any contribution hereby required to be made as aforesaid by the Wallace County Council, the Invercargill Borough Council, and the Southland County Council shall be paid from time to time, in the proportions hereinbefore prescribed, out of the funds of the said Councils, within a period of one month after demand in writing made by or on behalf of the Riverton Borough Council ; and all such payments shall be made from time to time to the Town Clerk, Riverton, for and on behalf of the said Councils.

SCHEDULE.

THAT bridge in the Southland Land District, Borough of Riverton, over the estuary of the Aparima and Pourakino Rivers commonly known as the Aparima River (together with approaches thereto). As the site of the said bridge and approaches is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 61838, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 20th day of October, 1927.

Authorizing the Wallace County Council to sell Timber upon a certain County Road in the Wallace County.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by section one hundred and twenty-three of the Public Works Act, 1908, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the Wallace County Council to sell or contract to sell and remove timber upon the County Road adjoining parts Sections 15 and 16, Block VII, Aparima Hundred ; as the said road is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 70239, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured pink.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 21st day of October, 1927.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the the Peace Act, 1908, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that

being a person holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at Mayfield, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.
