Consenting under the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, to the Raising of a Loan by the Wellington City Council.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this 17th day of October, 1927.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the borrowing by the Wellington City Council of the sum of five thousand eight hundred pounds for providing the Council’s proportion of the cost of erecting a bridge pursuant to a Warrant issued under section one hundred and nineteen of the Public Works Act, 1908, subject to the following conditions:—
(1) The said sum may be borrowed for a term not exceeding ten years.
(2) The Wellington City Council shall, before borrowing the said sum, or any part thereof, make provision for the repayment of the said sum by establishing a sinking fund under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and by making to such sinking fund payments at intervals of not more than one year, at a rate which shall be not less than one per centum, such payments to be made in respect of every part of the said sum for the time being so borrowed and not repaid, and the first payment to be made not later than one year after the first day from which interest to the lender is computed on any moneys so borrowed.

Vesting a Reserve in the Eyre County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 17th day of October, 1927.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart for a gravel-pit. And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Eyre:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section four of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, doth hereby declare that from and after the day of the date hereof the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Eyre, in trust, for a gravel-pit.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Reserve No. 4159 (formerly part of Lot 1 on deposit plan No. 4568), Block X, Mairaki Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the north-east by the North Eyre Road, 381·3 links; towards the south-east and south-west by other part of Lot 1 on said deposited plan, 1311·3 links and 381·3 links respectively; and again towards the north-west by a public road, 1311·3 links. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/5/139A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Waiapu County Council stopping the road described in the Schedule hereto.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the seventeenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the thirteenth day of the same month at page 2449, regulations were made under the authority of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, and its amendments (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), providing, inter alia, for the disconnection and removal from the premises of a subscriber of any telephone being used for an improper or illegal purpose:
And whereas it is expedient to amend such regulations in the manner hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in that behalf enabling him, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend in the manner set forth in the Schedule hereto Regulation numbered seventy-four under the heading “Illegal or Improper use of Telephone,” and doth hereby declare that this Order in Council shall come into force on the date of the publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
REGULATION 74 is hereby amended by inserting after clause (1) thereof the following clause:—
“(1A) A subscriber shall not, without the authority of the Minister, use his telephone, or permit the same to be used, for the purpose of transmitting musical items, whether they be received by him by way of radio broadcast reception or derived from mechanically operated musical instruments or otherwise.”
