WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1926, and of all other Acts and powers it in this behalf
enabling, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves on the
1st day of September, 1927, as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund,
and other charges on a special loan of twenty-six thousand
pounds (£26,000) to be known as the Wellington City Un-
employment Loan, 1927 (No. 3), authorized to be raised by
the Wellington City Council for the purpose of carrying out
public works for the relief of unemployment, namely :—

  1. Widening and formation of Point Halswell Road—a
    street in the city :
  2. Formation of playground at Nairnville, in the city :
  3. Widening Glenmore Road—a street in the city :
    the said Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a
    special rate of three-hundredths of a penny (3/100d.) in the
    pound on the rateable value, on the basis of the unimproved
    value, of all rateable property in the City of Wellington,
    and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
    during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on
    the 1st day of April in each and every year during the
    currency of such loan, being a period of nine (9) years and
    six (6) calendar months from the 30th day of September,
    1927, or until the loan is fully paid off.

FRANKLIN COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and
of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Franklin
County Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Franklin
County Council Maioro School Road Special-rating Area Loan
of two hundred pounds (£200), authorized to be raised by the
Franklin County Council under the above-mentioned Act,
for the purpose of legalizing fencing and formation of Maioro
School Road from Perry’s Corner to the school and the
forming and culverting of Robertson’s Road, Maioro, the
said Franklin County Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of three-farthings (¾d.) in the pound sterling
upon the rateable value, on the basis of the capital value,
of all rateable property in the Maioro School Road Special-
rating Area, being part of Waipipi Riding of the County of
Franklin, being more particularly described in the Schedule
hereto ; and that such special rate shall be an annually
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be
payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

DUNEDIN RADIO SUPPLIES, LIMITED.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general
meeting of the above-named company, held at Dun-
edin on the 1st day of September, 1927, the following extra-
ordinary resolution was passed, viz. :—
“ That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the company
that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue
its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same,
and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily
under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908, and that
CLEMENT AITCHISON, of Dunedin, Public Accountant, be
hereby appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-
up.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the following resolution was
passed by the shareholders of the above-named com-
pany on the 27th day of August, 1927 :—
“ That as the business of the DUCHESS SHOE COMPANY,
LIMITED, to date does not warrant continuance by reason of
the liabilities already incurred, it is advisable to wind up the
same, and accordingly the company be wound up voluntarily
under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908, and that
T. G. REYNOLDS, of Hamilton, Public Accountant, be hereby
appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.”

WHANGAREI COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR A PUBLIC ROAD.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Whangarei County
Council proposes, in exercise of the powers in that
behalf vested in it by the Public Works Act, 1908, and its
amendments, to take the land described in the Schedule
hereto, for the purpose of a public work—namely, a public
road—and that a plan of the land so proposed to be taken is
open for inspection at the County Office, Whangarei, during
ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the said taking, and having any
well-grounded objection thereto or to the taking of the said
land, are hereby called upon to set forth such objection in
writing to the Whangarei County Council within forty days
from the 1st day of September, 1927, being the date of the
first publication of this notice. (Plan No. 24327.)
