IN accordance with the provisions of the Education Act, 1914, and its amendments, it is hereby notified that Mr. Thomas Alston Coleman has been elected unopposed as a member of the Board to fill the extraordinary vacancy in the Gisborne Urban Area caused by the resignation of Mr. G. Crawshaw.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for a lease of the undermentioned reserve for a term of fourteen years will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office Auckland, up till 4 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, 11th October, 1927, under the provisions of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, and its amendments.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—WHAKATANE COUNTY.
SECTION 1, Block V, Galatea Survey District: Area, 315 acres. Upset annual rental, £10 10s.
Weighted with £524 valuation for improvements, payable in cash.
Situated on the Rangitaiki River, about forty-two miles from Rotorua and six miles north or Murupara.
Terms and Conditions of Lease.

Term of lease, fourteen years. The first half-year’s rental and value of improvements, together with the lease fee of £1 1s., to be paid on the fall of the hammer.

The lessor shall have the right at any time during the currency of the lease, to re-enter upon or resume possession of the whole or any portion of the land leased in the event of same being required for any public purpose, by giving the lessee three calendar months’ notice in writing.

In the event of the land being resumed or dealt with in any other way, it will be loaded with the value of improvements made by the lessee as in the case of Crown lands leased under the Land Act, 1924.

The lessee shall have no right to sublet, transfer, or otherwise dispose of the whole or any portion of the land comprised in the lease, except with the written consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands first had and obtained.

The lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of all noxious weeds on the land, and shall, with all reasonable despatch, remove or cause to be removed, all such noxious weeds or plants as may be directed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Rent payable half-yearly in advance, free from all deductions whatsoever.

Lease liable to forfeiture in case the lessee shall fail to fulfil any of the conditions of the said lease within sixty days after the date on which same ought to be fulfilled.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for the lease of the undermentioned area in terms of the Forests Act, 1921–22, will close at my office, on Wednesday, 21st September, 1927, at 4 o’clock p.m.

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 1,060 acres, more or less, being Section 5, Block II, Norsewood Survey District, Hawke’s Bay Land District (part State Forest No. 24).
Minimum annual rent, £100.
Term of lease, ten years.
