Appointments, Promotions, Resignations, and Transfers of Officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Military Forces:—
COMMANDS.
Lieutenant-Colonel E. J. Hulbert, D.S.O., 6th N.Z. Mounted Rifles (Manawatu), relinquishes command of the Regiment, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 5. Dated 21st August, 1927.
Lieutenant-Colonel A. S. Wilder, D.S.O., M.C., 6th N.Z. Mounted Rifles (Manawatu), is appointed to command the Regiment, vice Lieutenant-Colonel E. J. Hulbert, D.S.O. Dated 21st August, 1927.
Major J. Armstrong, 7th N.Z. Mounted Rifles (Wellington East Coast), is appointed to command the Regiment, vice Lieutenant-Colonel A. S. Wilder, D.S.O., M.C., transferred. Dated 21st August, 1927.
STAFF.
Lieutenant-Colonel E. H. Northcroft, D.S.O., N.Z. Army Legal Department, to be Deputy Judge-Advocate-General, and is attached to General Headquarters. Dated 23rd August, 1927.
Major F. L. G. West, N.Z. Army Legal Department, to be Legal Staff Officer, Northern Command, and is attached to the Headquarters of that Command. Dated 23rd August, 1927.
Captain C. A. L. Treadwell, O.B.E., Army Legal Department, to be Legal Staff Officer, Central Command, and is attached to the Headquarters of that Command. Dated 23rd August, 1927.
Captain G. T. Weston, N.Z. Army Legal Department, to be Legal Staff Officer, Southern Command, and is attached to the Headquarters of that Command. Dated 23rd August, 1927.
2ND N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (QUEEN ALEXANDRA’S WELLINGTON WEST COAST.)
2nd Lieutenant C. R. Mayer is transferred to the Central Depot, Corps of N.Z. Engineers. Dated 26th August, 1927.
6TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (MANAWATU).
Lieutenant-Colonel A. S. Wilder, D.S.O., M.C., from the 7th N.Z. Mounted Rifles (Wellington East Coast), to be Lieutenant-Colonel, with seniority as from the 10th September, 1926. Dated 21st August, 1927.
7TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (WELLINGTON EAST COAST).
Lieutenant-Colonel A. S. Wilder, D.S.O., M.C., is transferred to the 6th N.Z. Mounted Rifles (Manawatu). Dated 21st August, 1927.
8TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (NELSON).
Field-Marshal the Viscount Allenby, G.C.B., G.C.M.G., LL.D., is appointed Colonel-in-Chief of the Regiment. Dated 26th August, 1927.
9TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (NORTH AUCKLAND).
The seniority of Lieutenant N. C. Shepherd is antedated to 4th September, 1926.
THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.
2nd Lieutenant L. J. Mander, 4th Field Battery, N.Z.A., to be Lieutenant. Dated 25th June, 1927.
CORPS OF N.Z. ENGINEERS.
Northern Depot.
2nd Lieutenant R. Morrison is transferred from the Northern Depot to the Central Depot, with seniority as from the 15th July, 1924. Dated 26th August, 1927.
Central Depot.
Captain K. T. Jenssen is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class II (b), R.D. 5. Dated 15th August, 1927.
2nd Lieutenant C. R. Mayer, from the 2nd N.Z. Mounted Rifles (Queen Alexandra’s Wellington West Coast), to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 14th April, 1925. Dated 26th August, 1927.
N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS.
Northern Depot.
Lieutenant R. S. Wheeler, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant. Dated 4th November, 1925.
THE N.Z. INFANTRY.
The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own).
Lieutenant G. Laing, 3rd C Battalion, resigns his commission. Dated 25th August, 1927.
The undermentioned to be 2nd Lieutenants (on probation), and are seconded for duty with the 2nd C Battalion. Dated 25th August, 1927.

Major F. L. G. West, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the N.Z. Army Legal Department. Dated 23rd August, 1927.
The Hauraki Regiment.
Major A. R. Ryder, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Major, and is seconded for duty with the 2nd C Battalion. Dated 25th August, 1927.
The Wellington Regiment.
2nd Lieutenant C. B. Lewis, 1st Battalion, is granted an extension of leave of absence from 13th April, 1927, to 28th February, 1928, and remains seconded from his unit.
Hugh Williams to be 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Battalion. Dated 26th August, 1927.
The Wellington West Coast Regiment.
The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants, 3rd C Battalion, to be Lieutenants:—
E. J. Werry. Dated 27th August, 1926.
O. S. Steverson. Dated 25th May, 1927.
The Hawke’s Bay Regiment.
Lieutenant E. R. F. Scarfe, D.C.M., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 7. Dated 29th August, 1927.
The seniority of Lieutenant D. T. Okey, 1st C Battalion, is antedated to 17th July, 1926.
The Otago Regiment.
2nd Lieutenant A. C. Baume, 1st Battalion, resigns his commission. Dated 24th August, 1927.
The Southland Regiment.
Edward Smith to be Bandmaster, with the honorary rank of Lieutenant, 1st Battalion. Dated 22nd August, 1927.
N.Z. ARMY LEGAL DEPARTMENT.
Lieutenant-Colonel E. H. Northcroft, D.S.O., from the Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 23rd August, 1927.
