Alterations to Scale of Charges in force upon the New Zealand Government Railways.
IN pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling me under the Government Railways Act, 1926, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Railways, do hereby make the following alterations in the scale of charges in force on the New Zealand Government Railways open for traffic made on the 10th day of August, 1925, and published in the Gazette of 11th August, 1925.
PART III.—GOODS.
By adding the word “ice-cream” after the word “fruit,” in the first line of paragraph 6 of Regulation 23.
PART IV.—GOODS: LOCAL RATES.
By omitting the following:—
NORTH ISLAND MAIN LINE AND BRANCHES.

The charge for small lots of goods from Wellington to Featherston, Fernside, Woodside, Greytown, Matarawa, Dalefield, Carterton, Booth’s Siding, Clareville, Waingawa, Solway, or Masterton charged at Class E rate is not to exceed the charge for small lots of goods of Classes A, B, C, and D, from Wellington to these stations.
SOUTH ISLAND MAIN LINE AND BRANCHES.

Christchurch Sawyer’s Bay Hides or sheepskins, 60s.; minimum quantity

Timaru Christchurch Beer and stout, bottled 37s. 1d. per ton; minimum quantity, 5 tons
or in bulk per four-wheeled wagon.
†Timaru " Biscuits .. 37s. 1d. per ton; minimum quantity, 5 cwt.
per consignment.
† In the case of biscuits in tins, loose, in consignments of more than twenty tins or parcels, the local rate of 37s. 1d. will be increased by 2s. per ton.

(When tanks belonging to the same consignment are nested, each nested tank will be charged half the rate of the outside tank.)
