from any person or body corporate, whether by cash credit in current account with a bank or otherwise, for the purpose of enabling the said bodies corporate to liquidate existing liabilities in respect of, and to further improve and more efficiently farm, the lands of the said bodies corporate, the sums set out hereunder opposite the name of each such body corporate; and doth authorize the payment of any money so borrowed to the respective committees of management of the said bodies corporate; and doth consent to any instrument of alienation by way of mortgage of the lands of the said bodies corporate given in pursuance of this Order in Council being confirmed by the Tairawhiti District Maori Land Board.

Amending the Appointment of Representation on the Te Awamutu Electric-power Board.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the Order in Council dated the ninth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 34 of the nineteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, by determining that the combined district of part Waipa County, Kihikihi Town District, and Ohaupo Town District shall be entitled to five representatives on the Te Awamutu Electric-power Board, instead of seven representatives.

Authorizing the Purchase by the Westland Electric-power Board, for the Purpose of generating Electricity, of certain Mining Privileges, the Property of the Minister of Mines, and the Transfer or Lease by the Board to the Westland Power, Limited, of the aforesaid Privileges, and Privileges under the Board's Water-power and Electric-line License.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section seventy-six of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and of all others powers in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the purchase (for the purpose of generating electricity) by the Westland Electric-power Board (hereinafter referred to as “the Board”), duly constituted under the provisions of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, of certain mining privileges, the property of the Minister of Mines, and the transfer, assignment, or lease (including co-relative transactions) to the Westland Power, Limited, of the said mining privileges, and of privileges relating to the use of water-power for the generation of electricity, and the erection and use of electric lines for the transmission of electrical energy, granted to the Board by Order in Council dated the fourth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, published in Gazette No. 46, of the seventh day of the same month: As the said transactions are more particularly set out and described by deed of assignment from the Minister of Mines to the Board, deed of mortgage from the Board to the Minister of Mines, and deed of lease from the Board to Westland Power Limited, all dated the fifth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, copies of which are deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Waiapu County Council stopping the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road permitted to be stopped: 1 acre 1 rood 6 perches.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS each of the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto has obtained, in terms of section fourteen of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, exemption from the requirements of that Act in respect of the loans mentioned in the said Schedule:

And whereas application has been made under section twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919, for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council, to enable the said local authorities to borrow the sums set out in the said Schedule, and it is expedient that such precedent consent should issue:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the
