or determined, and such money or any part thereof has not been borrowed, the local authority or public body may, with the precedent consent of the Minister of Finance, borrow such money, or such amount thereof as has not been borrowed, at such rate of interest, or for such term, as may be prescribed by the Governor-General by Order in Council:
And whereas the Featherston County Council has been authorized to borrow the sum of twelve thousand pounds for reconstructing and surfacing with bitumen certain portion of the Wellington-Napier Main Highway and the Featherston-Martinborough Main Highway, and is now desirous of borrowing an additional sum of one thousand two hundred pounds under the authority of section nineteen of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, for the purpose of completing the undertaking:
And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his precedent consent as required by the above-recited section one hundred and fourteen, and it is desired that the term for which the money may be borrowed be twenty years, and the rate of interest payable thereon be not exceeding six per centum per annum:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him as aforesaid, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prescribe that the term for which the Featherston County Council may borrow the said sum of one thousand two hundred pounds shall be twenty years, and the rate of interest that may be paid thereon shall be a rate not exceeding six per centum per annum, and the said Featherston County Council is hereby authorized to borrow the said sum of one thousand two hundred pounds accordingly.

Notifying Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction for Cash or on Deferred Payments.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the nineteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash or on deferred payments; and I hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Ohinemuri County.—Paeroa Township.
SECTION S.E. 1, Block I: Area, 5·3 perches. Upset price, £60.
Section 2, Block I: Area, 12·9 perches. Upset price, £90.
Section 14, Block I: Area, 12 perches. Upset price, £135.
Section 15, Block I; Area, 12 perches. Upset price, £120.
Section 16, Block I: Area, 12 perches. Upset price, £100.
Section 17, Block I: Area, 12 perches. Upset price, £100.
The sections, which are situated near the Paeroa Post-office, are all level, and would make suitable shop or office sites. Sections S.E. 1 and 2 are situated in Cassrell’s Street, Section 14 has a frontage to Normanby Road and Arney Street, and Sections 15, 16, and 17 front Arney Street.
Ohinemuri County.—Aroha Survey District.
SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Section 4, Block IV: Area, 120 acres. Upset price, £1,200. Situated about two miles and a quarter from Waihi Post-office, on the Tauranga-Waihi Road.
Mostly level land, practically all ploughable, but slightly broken by shallow gullies on the eastern side. Property ring-fenced. Has been grassed, but now mostly in short tea-tree, fern, and blackberry. Soil of inferior quality; poorly watered. The section when fully improved would make a suitable dairy farm.
Piako County.—Te Aroha Township.
FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Section 18, Block LXIV: Area, 1 rood 11 perches. Upset price, £120.
Building-site, situated in Whittaker Street, about half a mile from the Te Aroha Railway-station and Post-office, and practically adjoining the school-site.

Appointing a Member of the Havelock Harbour Board.
CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.
WHEREAS it is provided by subsection three of section thirty-eight of the Harbours Act, 1923, that in the event of an extraordinary vacancy in the office of a non-elective member of a Harbour Board, the Governor-General shall, by Warrant under his hand, appoint some qualified person in his place:
And whereas William Hadfield Smith, a non-elective member of the Havelock Harbour Board being deceased, an extraordinary vacancy in the membership of the Board has been created, and it is desirable to appoint a qualified person in his place:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the herein-before-recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint
David Emery Higgins
to be a member of the Havelock Harbour Board, in place of the said William Hadfield Smith, deceased.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 23rd day of August, 1927.

Warrant vesting the Control of the Waipa River Bridge (Toa’s) on the Otorohanga-Otewa-Rangitoto Road, in the Otorohanga County Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby direct that the Waipa River Bridge (Toa’s) on the Otorohanga-Otewa-Rangitoto Road (as more particularly described in the Schedule hereto) shall, on and after the date of the gazetting hereof, be under the exclusive care, control, and management of the Otorohanga County Council.
SCHEDULE.
THAT bridge in the Auckland Land District over the Waipa River on the Otorohanga-Otewa-Rangitoto Road, known as the Waipa River Bridge (Toa’s), situated near the northernmost corner of part Section 8, Block XV, Mangaorongo Survey District. As the site of the said bridge is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 69724, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 26th day of August, 1927.

to be a member of the Medical Council under the aforesaid Act.
