Revoking and amending Regulations under the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1920.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 29th day of August, 1927.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon him by the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1920 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the several regulations under the said Act referred to in the First Schedule hereto, and doth hereby make by way of amendment to the regulations under the said Act made on the thirty-first day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and published in the Gazette on the first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, at page 2251 (hereinafter together referred to as “the said regulations”), the regulations set out in the Second Schedule hereto.

SECOND SCHEDULE.
AMENDING REGULATIONS ENACTED.
- REGULATION 2 of the said regulations is hereby revoked and the following substituted in lieu thereof:—
“2. (a) Every such list of electors shall contain the particulars specified in the First Schedule hereinafter contained.
“(b) The said list may be divided into two or more parts.
“(c) In any such list or part thereof the names shall be entered in alphabetical order of surnames.
“(d) The several electors’ rolls (including main rolls and supplementary rolls) for the time being in force for the City of Christchurch and the Boroughs of Riccarton, New Brighton, and Sumner, or any of such rolls, may be taken as parts of the said electors’ list without it being necessary for the Secretary of the Board to prepare any new lists, other than supplementary lists, of the electors of such parts of the Christchurch Tramway District as are within the boundaries of the said city and boroughs, respectively.
“(e) In respect of such parts of the said district as are outside the boundaries of the said city and boroughs, the ratepayers’ rolls (including main rolls and supplementary rolls) for the time being in force for such counties or parts of counties as are within the said Christchurch Tramway District, or any of such rolls, may be taken as parts of the said electors’ list without it being necessary for the Secretary to prepare any new lists, other than supplementary lists, of such electors of the district as are qualified to be on such ratepayers’ rolls.”

Clause (2) of Regulation 7 of the said regulations is hereby revoked.

Regulation 12 of the said regulations is hereby amended by adding thereto the following proviso:—
“Provided that every elector shall have only one vote whether his name appears once or oftener on the several rolls, lists of parts thereof herein referred to.”
- The First Schedule to the said regulations, as substituted by the above-mentioned regulations of the 18th day of August, 1924, is hereby revoked and the following substituted in lieu thereof:—
“FIRST SCHEDULE.
“Electors’ List.
“(a) The electors’ list shall contain the christian name and the surname of the elector, his or her qualification and occupation, and situation of property or place of residence, as the case may be.
“(b) Where any list, or part thereof, includes only the names of electors enrolled in respect of one subdistrict of the Christchurch Tramway District, there shall be prefixed to such list, or part thereof, the name of that subdistrict.
“(c) Where any list or part thereof, includes the names of electors enrolled in respect of different subdistricts of the Christchurch Tramway District, the subdistrict in respect of which the elector is enrolled must be stated.
“Provided that in respect of such parts of the said list as consist of the electors’ rolls for the City of Christchurch and the Borough of Riccarton, it shall be necessary to state such subdistrict only in cases where such subdistrict is a subdistrict other than the central subdistrict, or other than the Riccarton-Fendalton Subdistrict, respectively.
“(d) The following abbreviations may be used for the purpose of clause (c) hereof:—
Abbreviation “C” means the Central Subdistrict.
Abbreviation “A” means the Avon-Brighton Subdistrict.

“Provided that the above information respecting abbreviations shall be prefixed to every list or part thereof in which any of the said abbreviations are used.”

Revoking Regulations for Trout, Perch, and Tench fishing in Otago Acclimatization District, and making others in lieu thereof.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Fisheries Act, 1908, and its amendments, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following regulations for all that part of the Dominion known as the Otago Acclimatization District, as the same is defined in the First Schedule hereto, and the waters thereof, and doth hereby declare that these regulations shall, as from the date of publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette, supersede all regulations at variance therewith.
REGULATIONS.

LICENSES to fish for trout, tench, and perch may be issued by the Secretary of the Otago Acclimatization Society or by any one authorized by such Secretary in that behalf, and every such license shall entitle the person named therein to fish in the Otago Acclimatization District for trout, tench, and perch from the 1st day of October in any one year to the 13th day of April in the year following (both dates inclusive), except for fishing and netting in Lake Hawea, its tributary rivers, Lake Wanaka, its tributary rivers, and the Hawea River, the season for which shall extend from the 1st day of November in any one year to the 31st day of May in the year following (both dates inclusive), subject to the said Acts and to these regulations: Provided that it shall be lawful for the Secretary or his deputy in any case where application is made before, on, or after the 20th day of December in any year to issue a license to any man, but so that any such license shall extend from the said 20th day of December or from the time of granting the same (if granted later than the said 20th day of December) until the termination of the then fishing season. Such license shall be termed “Half-season License,” and shall entitle the holder thereof to fish only in the waters of the Otago Acclimatization District: Provided that such Secretary may refuse to issue a license to any person who within the previous two years has been convicted of any breach of the provisions of any Act relating to fishing for trout, tench, or perch, or of any regulation made thereunder.

Such licenses shall be issued at the following rates: Licenses for men, £1 for the whole season. Licenses for women and for boys attending school or under the age of sixteen years, 5s. for the whole season. Half-season license, as prescribed above, 12s. 6d. Such licenses shall be in the form or to the effect set forth in forms numbered one and two in the Second Schedule hereto.

No license shall authorize any person other than the person named therein to fish, and that only with one rod and line, and with the following baits—namely, natural or artificial flies, insects, or fish, or with worms, creepers, maggots, caterpillars, frogs, or tadpoles, or with Devons or spoons.
