Capstan Rock: Amended Depth.

Position: About 1¼ miles south-eastward of Tapeka Point. Lat, 35° 15′ S., long. 174° 09′ E. (approx.).

Depth: Three-quarters of a fathom (1ᵐ4), instead of 2 fathoms (3ᵐ7) hitherto shown on the charts.

(2670) PANAMA.—PANAMA BAY APPROACH.—CAPE MALA.—SOUTH FRAILE ISLAND).

Gas and Whistle Buoy to be established.

About 15th July, 1927, a gas and whistle buoy, painted black, and showing a group-flashing white light every 20 secs., thus: Flash 0·5 sec., eclipse 4·5 secs.; flash 0·5 sec. eclipse 4·5 secs.; flash 5 secs., eclipse 5 secs.; will be established off South Fraile Island, on the bearings: Cape Mala Light, 44°; Morro Puercos, 252° 30′; Raia Point, 313° 45′.

The light will be elevated 16 ft. above the water, and visible eight miles. Approx. position: 7° 19′ N., 80° 08′ W.


(2744) HAWAIIAN ISLANDS.—OAHU ISLAND.

Makapuu Point Light Station: Radiobeacon established.

A radiobeacon which transmits groups of four dashes for 60 seconds, silent 120 seconds, has been established at Makapuu Point Light-station.

The signal is transmitted daily in clear weather from 10.30 to 11.00 a.m. and from 3.30 to 4.00 p.m., and for the third 15 minutes of each hour from 7.30 p.m. to 6.45 a.m.

Approx. position: 21° 18′ 47″ N., 157° 39′ 08″ W.


CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Lands in Nelson Land District forfeited.

NOTICE is hereby given that the leases of the under-mentioned lands having been declared forfeited by resolution of the Nelson Land Board, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders, marked on the outside “Tender for lease,” will be received at this office up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Wednesday, 28th September, 1927, for a lease of the undermentioned section, in accordance with the provisions of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, and amendments.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.

SECTION 46, Town of Murchison: Area, 1 acre 3 roods 8 perches. Minimum annual rental, £1 10s.

Situated with a frontage to the main street of Murchison. All flat land. Overrun with fern and blackberry.

Terms and Conditions of Lease.

  1. The lease shall be for a term of ten years, commencing from the 1st day of January, 1928.

  2. One year’s rent at the rate offered, together with £1 1s. lease fee, to accompany each tender. Rent for broken period from date of acceptance of tender to 31st December, 1927, is also payable.

  3. Lessee shall have no right of renewal, nor shall any compensation be claimed for improvements effected.

  4. Lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of broom, gorse, and noxious weeds, and shall with all reasonable despatch, remove, or cause to be removed, all noxious weeds now growing upon the said land.

  5. Lessee shall pay all rates, taxes, and other assessments.

  6. Lease is liable to forfeiture if any conditions are not fulfilled or if rent is unpaid for a space of thirty days from due date.

One-fifth of the purchase-money to be paid on the fall of the hammer and the balance, with Crown grant fee (£1), within thirty days thereafter, otherwise the part of the purchase-money paid by way of deposit shall be forfeited, and the contract for the sale of the land be null and void.

Titles will be subject to Part XIII of the Land Act, 1924.
