NOTICE is hereby given that the Public Trustee has filed in the Supreme Court an election to administer in respect of the several estates of the persons deceased whose names, residences, and occupations (so far as known) are hereunder set forth.

Notice to Mariners No. 56 of 1927.

THE following Notices to Mariners, which have been received from the Department of Trade and Customs, are published for general information.

AUSTRALIA.—SOUTH COAST.—RIVOLI BAY.—PENGUIN ISLAND.

Alteration in Light.

Mariners and others are hereby notified that the group-flashing white light with red sector (U) on Penguin Island was altered on 6th July, 1927.

Previous Notice: No. 4 of 1927.

Position: Near south extreme of island, lat. 37° 31′ S., long. 140° 01′ E., on Chart No. 1007.

Alteration: The group-flashing white light with red sector, showing two flashes every ten seconds, has been replaced by a group-flashing white light, with red sector, showing four flashes every twelve seconds, thus: Flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1 sec.; flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1 sec.; flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1 sec.; flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 7⅔ sec.

Remarks: In other respects the light remains unaltered. No further notice will be given.

Charts affected: Nos. 1007—1014—1062.


AUSTRALIA.—EAST COAST.—INNER BARRIER ROUTE.—GRASSY HILL.

Alteration in Light.—Signal Station discontinued.

Mariners and others are hereby notified that the fixed white light on Grassy Hill was replaced by a group-flashing white light (U) and the signal station was discontinued, on 12th July, 1927.

Previous Notice: No. 6 of 1927.

Position: Near summit, lat. 15° 27½′ S., long. 145° 15′ E. on Chart No. 1350.

Alterations: Character.—The fixed white light has been replaced by a group-flashing white light (U), showing two flashes every six seconds, thus: Flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1 sec.; flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 4⅓ sec.

Power: The power has been increased from 1,000 candles to 1,500 candles.

Visibility: 15 miles, at full power from 192° through west to 315° (not 316° as given in Notice No. 6); obscured elsewhere.

NOTE.—The light is unwatched. The Signal-station has been discontinued, and the signalling hitherto carried out at Grassy Hill has been transferred to Archer Point Signal-station.

Remarks: In other respects the light remains unaltered. No further notice will be given.

AUSTRALIA.—NORTH-WEST COAST.—AIRLIE ISLAND.

Intended Alteration in Light.

Mariners and others are hereby notified that the group-flashing white light (U) on Airlie Island will be altered on or about 28th November, 1927.

Position: Centre of island, lat. 21° 19′ S., long. 115° 10′ E. on Chart No. 1055.

Alterations: The group-flashing white light (U) showing three flashes every nine seconds, will be replaced by a group-flashing white light (U), showing four flashes every twelve seconds, thus: Flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1 sec.; flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1 sec.; flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1 sec.; flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 7⅔ sec.

Remarks: In other respects the light will remain unchanged. Further notice will be given when the alteration has been carried out.

Chart affected: No. 1055.


AUSTRALIA.—NORTH-WEST COAST.—ANCHOR ISLAND.

Intended Alteration in Light.

Mariners and others are hereby notified that the flashing white light (U) on Anchor Island will be altered on or about 30th November, 1927.

Position: Centre of island, lat. 21° 32′ S., long. 114° 46′ E., on Chart No. 1055.

Alteration: The flashing white light (U) will be replaced by a group-flashing white light (U) showing three flashes every nine seconds, thus: Flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1 sec.; flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1 sec.; flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 6 sec.

Remarks: In other respects the light will remain unchanged. Further notice will be given when the alteration has been carried out.

Charts affected: Nos. 1055—2759A.

Former Notice.—No. 448 of 1927.

Amended position: Centre of rock, about 2 cables northward of charted position and at a distance of 4·6 miles 090° from Vatumbulo Island 40 ft. (12ᵐ2). Lat. 17° 46′ S., long. 177° 18′ E. (approx.).
