Captain J. A. Meikle, from the Wellington Regiment, to be Captain, 1st Battalion, with seniority as from the 8th June, 1926. Dated 6th August, 1927.

Lieutenant C. L. King, from the Otago Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 1st May, 1926, and is seconded for duty with the 4th C Battalion. Dated 6th August, 1927.

The Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment.

The Reverend J. McNeill, Chaplain 4th Class, is retired, he having left the Dominion. Dated 6th August, 1927.

Major E. G. Baddeley, the Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own).

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block X, Norsewood Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Post-office at Matamau, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 2 roods 21 perches.

Being portion of Section 35, Village of Matamau. Situated in Block X, Norsewood Survey District (Hawke’s Bay R.D.). (S.O. 863.)

In the Hawke’s Bay Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 66436, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District,- and thereon coloured pink.

As witness my hand at Wellington, this 20th day of August, 1927.

Arrangement for First Election, &c., Tahuna Drainage District.

Benjamin Arthur Waide, Esquire, of Tahuna,

to be Returning Officer and person to prepare the roll of electors in connection with the first election of the Board of the Tahuna Drainage District; also to appoint Wednesday, the 14th day of September, 1927, to be the day and the Tahuna Supply Stores, Tahuna, to be the place for holding such election; also to appoint Wednesday, the 21st day of September, 1927, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon, to be the day and the hour, and the Public Hall, Tahuna, to be the place, for holding the first meeting of the Board so elected.
