to be Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Te Awamutu, at Ohaupo, as from the 11th August, 1927.

(Mrs.) Edythe Grace Chamberlin
to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Horoera, as from the 1st July, 1927.

Commissioner of the Supreme Court appointed.

NOTICE.

ALFRED JAMES COATES, Esquire, of Sydney, New South Wales, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, has this day been appointed by the Honourable Sir Charles Perrin Skerrett, K.C.M.G., Chief Justice of New Zealand, a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in New South Wales, under the 47th section of the Judicature Act, 1908, for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

Dated at Wellington, this 20th day of August, 1927.

Appointments, Promotions, Resignations, and Transfers of Officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Military Forces :—

STAFF.

Captain A. Bongard, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Area Officer, Area 3A, but retains the appointment of Adjutant, 1st Battalion, North Auckland Regiment, Whangarei. Dated 4th July, 1927.

Captain A. S. Hooper, the Wiltshire Regiment, having been promoted to the rank of Major in his regiment as from the 4th April, 1927 (London Gazette, dated 7th June, 1927) is granted the local rank of Major in the N.Z. Permanent Forces. Dated 4th April, 1927.

Captain R. S. Park, Regiment of Royal N.Z. Artillery, is appointed Adjutant, Central Coast Artillery Group. Dated 19th July, 1927.

N.Z. STAFF CORPS.

Major P. B. Henderson, M.C., is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 24th July, 1927.

8TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (NELSON).

Captain F. Robertson, D.C.M., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b) R.D. 9. Dated 6th August, 1927.

THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants, 15th Coast Battery, are transferred to the Wellington Regiment. Dated 2nd August, 1927.

2nd Lieutenant T. L. Bieleski, 3rd C Battalion, resigns his commission. Dated 1st August, 1927.

The Hauraki Regiment.

2nd Lieutenant W. N. Verry, from the Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own), to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 23rd May, 1924, and is seconded for service with the 1st C Battalion. Dated 9th August, 1927.

The North Auckland Regiment.

Lieutenant W. H. Potter, 1st Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 1st August, 1927.

The Waikato Regiment.

The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants, 1st Battalion, to be Lieutenants :—

The Wellington Regiment.

Captain J. A. Meikle, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Canterbury Regiment. Dated 6th August, 1927.

Lieutenant R. J. Wells, from the Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment, to be Lieutenant, 1st Battalion, with seniority as from the 6th February, 1927. Dated 5th August, 1927.

2nd Lieutenant H. A. Savage, 4th C Battalion, is transferred to the Wellington West Coast Regiment. Dated 5th August, 1927.

2nd Lieutenant D. G. Edwards, from the Hawke’s Bay Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 15th September, 1926, and is seconded for duty with the 2nd C Battalion. Dated 2nd August, 1927.

2nd Lieutenant J. H. Hall-Kenney, from the Regiment of N.Z. Artillery, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 27th January, 1927, and is seconded for duty with the 4th C Battalion. Dated 2nd August, 1927.

2nd Lieutenant B. D. Nicholson, from the Regiment of N.Z. Artillery, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 27th January, 1927, and is seconded for duty with the 4th C Battalion. Dated 2nd August, 1927.

The Wellington West Coast Regiment.

2nd Lieutenant H. A. Savage, from the Wellington Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 15th May, 1926, and is seconded for duty with the 2nd C Battalion. Dated 5th August, 1927.
