HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the New Zealand Military Forces :—
STAFF.
Major J. A. Wallingford, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps, ceases to be attached to the General Staff, Northern Command. Dated 15th February, 1927.
6TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (MANAWATU).
The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants to be Lieutenants. Dated 27th May, 1927.

Lieutenant C. E. Lees, from the Hawke’s Bay Regiment, to be Lieutenant. Dated 27th May, 1927.
7TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (WELLINGTON EAST COAST).
Quartermaster and Lieutenant J. R. T. Slipper to be Quartermaster and Captain. Dated 9th May, 1927.
THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.
2nd Lieutenant J. M. Mitchell, 9th Field Battery, to be Lieutenant. Dated 27th May, 1927.
THE AUCKLAND REGIMENT (COUNTESS OF RANFURLY’S OWN).
Lieutenant L. L. Robertson, M.M., 1st Battalion, is transferred to the North Auckland Regiment. Dated 21st May, 1927.
Lieutenant A. B. Ross from the Reserve of Officers to be Lieutenant, and is seconded for duty as A.D.C. to the Administrator of Western Samoa. Dated 1st January, 1925.
THE HAURAKI REGIMENT.
Lieutenant W. H. Hoult, 1st C Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class II (b), R.D. 2. Dated 18th May, 1927.
The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants to be Lieutenants. Dated 26th May, 1927 :—

B. R. Penlington, 1st C Battalion.
J. M. Fox, 1st Battalion.
Leslie Arthur Watkins to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), and is seconded for duty with the 1st C Battalion. Dated 26th May, 1927.
THE NORTH AUCKLAND REGIMENT.
Lieutenant L. L. Robertson, M.M., from the Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own), to be Lieutenant, 1st Battalion, with seniority as from the 12th November, 1926. Dated 21st May, 1927.
THE WAIKATO REGIMENT.
Lieutenant J. W. Olphert, 2nd C Battalion, is transferred to the Hawke’s Bay Regiment. Dated 27th May, 1927.
2nd Lieutenant G. F. Pryce, from the Reserve of Officers, to be 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Battalion. Dated 16th May, 1927.
THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT.
2nd Lieutenant W. E. Bennett, 2nd C Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Dated 27th May, 1927.
2nd Lieutenant R. W. Haddow, D.C.M., 1st Battalion, is posted to the Retired List under the provisions of G.O. 184/21, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 27th May, 1927.
THE HAWKE’S BAY REGIMENT.
The undermentioned are transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b). Dated 27th May, 1927 :—

Lieutenant C. E. Lees, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the 6th N.Z. Mounted Rifles (Manawatu). Dated 27th May, 1927.
Lieutenant J. W. Olphert, from the Waikato Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 6th June, 1925, and is seconded for duty with the 1st C Battalion. Dated 27th May, 1927.
2nd Lieutenant J. S. Peel ceases to be seconded to the 3rd C Battalion, and is seconded for duty with the 2nd C Battalion. Dated 27th May, 1927.
THE TARANAKI REGIMENT.
The undermentioned are transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 8. Dated 24th May, 1927 :—
Lieutenant W. T. McCaw, M.M., 1st Battalion.
Lieutenant C. O. Edmonds, 1st C Battalion.
THE CANTERBURY REGIMENT.
2nd Lieutenant G. A. Hislop, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Otago Regiment. Dated 27th May, 1927.
Lieutenant L. de F. Ensor ceases to be seconded to the 4th C Battalion, and is seconded for duty with the 2nd C Battalion, with his original seniority. Dated 19th May, 1927.
2nd Lieutenant J. E. Mackay ceases to be seconded to the 4th C Battalion, and is seconded for duty with the 2nd C Battalion. Dated 16th May, 1927.
Roy Faville to be 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Battalion. Dated 27th May, 1927.
Cuthbert Leslie Ridgen to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), and is seconded for duty with the 1st C Battalion. Dated 27th May, 1927.
Maurice Patrick Lyng to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), and is seconded for duty with the 2nd C Battalion. Dated 27th May, 1927.
THE NELSON, MARLBOROUGH, AND WEST COAST REGIMENT.
The appointments of the undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants (on probation) are confirmed :—

William Alfred Sheat to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), and is seconded for duty with the 3rd C Battalion. Dated 16th May, 1927.

Stewart Gordon McDonald (late Captain in N.Z.E.F.) to be Captain, 1st Battalion. Dated 16th May, 1927.

Joseph Wilfrid Craven to be Captain, and is attached for duty to the 13th Coast Battery, Regiment of N.Z. Artillery. Dated 13th May, 1927.
James Aitkenhead Paterson, M.B., to be Lieutenant, and is attached for duty with the 1st Battalion, Hauraki Regiment. Dated 27th March, 1927.
N.Z. CHAPLAINS’ DEPARTMENT.
The Reverend J. J. Cullen, Chaplain, 4th Class, is transferred from R.D. 5 to R.D. 10. Dated 18th May, 1927.
The Reverend H. J. Ralph, Chaplain, 4th Class, is transferred from R.D. 1 to R.D. 9. Dated 25th May, 1927.
