Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said sixty thousand pounds on the instalment system, extending over a period of thirty-six and a half years :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Hutt Valley Electric-power Board raising the sum of sixty thousand pounds upon terms of making the same, together with interest thereon, repayable by instalments extending over a period of thirty-six and a half years, and the said Hutt Valley Electric-power Board is hereby authorized to borrow the said sum of sixty thousand pounds on these terms.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of June, 1927.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS each of the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto has obtained, in terms of section fourteen of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, exemption from the requirements of that Act in respect of the loans mentioned in the said Schedule :

And whereas application has been made under section twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919, for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the said local authorities to borrow the sums set out in the said Schedule, and it is expedient that such precedent consent should issue :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto, and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said loans.

DANNEVIRKE County Council, for waterworks .. £ 475
Foxton Borough Council, for a worker’s dwelling .. 800
Hungahunga Drainage Board, for drainage-works in the Piraunui Special-rating Area .. 2,500
Onehunga Borough Council, for erection of refuse-destructor .. 2,500
South Canterbury Electric-power Board, for electric works .. 36,000
Tauranga Borough Council, for the erection of a library and reading-room .. 5,000
Wellington City Council, for relief-works for unemployed .. 4,000
Waitara Borough Council, for the completion of tar grouting of the main highway through the borough .. 600

Constitution of a Warden’s Court in the Borough of Ashburton.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of June, 1927.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the Mining Act, 1926, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby constitute and appoint the Courthouse, in the Borough of Ashburton, to be a Warden’s Court.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Weedons Domain.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of June, 1927.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

Henry Curragh,
David Gilmour,
Laurence Bernard Manion,
William Phillips, and
David Wilson

to be the Weedons Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto ; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the twenty-seventh day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Schoolroom, Weedons, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.


SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—WEEDONS DOMAIN.

RESERVE 1596, Block XV, Rolleston Survey District : Area, 48 acres 2 roods 17 perches, more or less.

Extending the Operation of the Wellington City Heavy-traffic By-law, 1926.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of June, 1927.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it is provided by section three hundred and fifty-five of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920 (hereinafter referred to as “ the said Act ”), that the Governor-General may, by Order in Council made on the application of any Council, direct that heavy-traffic licenses granted under by-laws made pursuant to the provisions of paragraph nine of section three hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, shall extend and be available within the district of every local authority, any part of which is within five miles of any part of the boundary of the city or borough :

And whereas it is provided by section fifteen of the Wellington City Empowering and Amendment Act, 1924, that for the purposes of the said section three hundred and fifty-five the Upper Hutt Town District shall be deemed to be within five miles of the City of Wellington, and the provisions of that section shall, in relation to heavy-traffic by-laws and heavy-traffic licenses of the Wellington City Council, operate accordingly :

And whereas the Wellington City Council has made application for the issue of an Order in Council under the said section three hundred and fifty-five, and it is desirable to issue the said Order in Council :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section three hundred and fifty-five of the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby direct that heavy-traffic licenses granted by the Wellington City Council under the Wellington City Heavy-traffic By-law, 1926, made pursuant to the provisions of paragraph nine of section three hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, shall extend and be available within the district of every local authority any part of which is within five miles of any part of the boundary of the City of Wellington, and also within the Upper Hutt Town District.
