At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 31st day of May, 1927.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. COATES, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Auckland City Council on the twelfth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, viz. :—

“ That the Auckland City Council, having control of High Street, Auckland, by resolution declares that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to the said street fronting part Lot 2, Section 4, City of Auckland ” ; such portion of street being described in the Schedule hereto.

THE western side of all that portion of street situated in the North Auckland Land District, City of Auckland, known as High Street, fronting portion of Lot 2, Section 4, City of Auckland; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 69023, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.

Prescribing the Rate of Interest that may be paid by the New Lynn Town Board in respect of a Loan of £75,000, authorized to be raised for Drainage-works.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of May, 1927.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and fourteen of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, it is provided that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any Act or in any rule of law, where a local authority or public body has been authorized before the passing of the said Act or is thereafter authorized to borrow money, whether pursuant to a poll of ratepayers or otherwise howsoever, whether the rate of interest or the term of years of the loan was or was not specified or determined, and such money or any part thereof has not been borrowed, the local authority or public body may, with the precedent consent of the Minister of Finance, borrow such money, or such amount thereof as has not been borrowed, at such rate of interest or for such term as may be prescribed by the Governor-General by Order in Council :

And whereas the New Lynn Town Board has been authorized to borrow the sum of seventy-five thousand pounds for drainage-works :

And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his precedent consent as required by the above-recited section one hundred and fourteen, and it is desired that the rate of interest at which the money may be borrowed be not exceeding six per centum per annum :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him as aforesaid, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prescribe that the rate of interest that may be paid by the New Lynn Town Board in respect of the said sum of seventy-five thousand pounds shall be a rate not exceeding six per centum per annum, and the said New Lynn Town Board is hereby authorized to borrow the said sum of seventy-five thousand pounds accordingly.

Red-legged or French Partridge (Caccabis Rufa) declared to be Imported Game.

IN pursuance of the powers conferred on me by section eight of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that on and from the date hereof the bird known as red-legged or French partridge (Caccabis rufa) shall be deemed to be included in the Second Schedule of the said Act.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 25th day of May, 1927.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section four of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke a certain Warrant dated the first day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, appointing trustees for the Te Kapa Public Cemetery, and in lieu thereof do hereby appoint

John Deerness Algie,
Frederick Joseph Anderson,
Robert Davie-Martin,
Stewart Dawson,
Richard Henry Goldsworthy,
Frank Goodall, and
Thomas Henry Scandrett

to be trustees to have the maintenance and care of the Te Kapa Cemetery as described in the Schedule hereto.
