THE COMPANIES ACT, 1908.
In the matter of F. G. PAGE, LIMITED, a private company.
AT a meeting of all the shareholders of the above-named company held on the 18th day of March, 1927, at the office of Charles Moore Bowden, Public Accountant, Wellington, the following resolution was passed under the provisions of subsection (6) of section 168 of the Companies Act, 1908 :—
Resolved,—That it having been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, it is desirable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that THOMAS FORSYTH, of Wellington, Public Accountant, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator at a remuneration of 5 per cent. on the gross assets realized or at such other remuneration as may from time to time be arranged between the said THOMAS FORSYTH and the shareholders of this company.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and their amendments.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of Wellington proposes under the provisions of the above-named Acts and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, for street purposes: Queen’s Drive, in the City of Wellington—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection without fee by all persons during the ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of the said land should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work, or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF SURNAME.
I, FREDERICK JOHN KING, heretofore called and known by the name of FREDERICK JOHN SCHENKEL, of Redan, in Southland, in New Zealand, Flaxcutter, hereby give public notice that on the 19th day of May, 1927, I formally and absolutely renounced, relinquished, and abandoned the use of my said surname of “Schenkel” and then assumed and adopted, and determined thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of “King” instead of the said name of “Schenkel”; and I give further notice that by a deed poll dated the 19th day of May, 1927, duly executed and attested and enrolled in the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Invercargill on the 20th day of May, 1927, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said surname of “Schenkel,” and declared that I had assumed and adopted and intended thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of “King” instead of “Schenkel,” and so as to be at all times thereafter called, known, and described by the name of “King” exclusively.

IN LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that on the 11th day of May, 1927, the above-named company passed the following extraordinary resolutions :—
“That the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue to carry on business, and that it be wound up voluntarily.”
“That LEONARD W. SWAN, of Auckland, Public Accountant, be, and he is hereby, appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
THE Partnership hitherto existing between LEO JAMES COURTNEY and GEORGE CROOKALL, of Edendale, Plumbers, and carried on under the style and name of “Courtney and Crookall,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 30th day of April, 1927.

BOROUGH OF MOUNT ALBERT.
DECLARATION OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO ADOPT SYSTEM OF RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUES.
PURSUANT to section 42 of the Rating Act, 1925, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Mount Albert, taken on the 27th day of April, 1927, on the proposal that the system of rating in the said borough be on the unimproved value, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 2,054; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 941.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
