Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee.
NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by section 3 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, I, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, have appointed
Frank Hugh Muirhead
of the Public Trust Office, Palmerston North, to be deputy of the District Public Trustee, Palmerston North, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from his headquarters, and all previous appointments in this behalf are hereby revoked.

Appointments, Promotions, Resignations, and Transfers of Officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.
STAFF.
Lieutenant-Colonel I. T. Standish, D.S.O., Royal N.Z. Artillery, relinquishes the appointment of Artillery Staff Officer, Northern Command, but retains the appointment of Assistant Adjutant and Quartermaster-General, Northern Command. Dated 24th April, 1927.
Captain G. Dittmer, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Area Officer, Area 4B, Pukekohe, as from 11th March, 1927, and is appointed Adjutant, 1st Battalion, Waikato Regiment. Dated 1st April, 1927.
N.Z. STAFF CORPS.
Lieutenant S. Frickleton, V.C., is posted to the Retired List under the provisions of G.O. 184/21, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 30th April, 1927.
REGIMENT OF ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY.
Major R. Miles, D.S.O., M.C., ceases to be attached to General Headquarters, and is appointed Officer Commanding, Royal N.Z. Artillery, Northern Command. Dated 25th April, 1927.
1ST N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES.
Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry.
Hon. Lieutenant and Bandmaster W. H. Osborne, M.B.E., is posted to the Retired List under the provisions of G.O. 184/21, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 31st March, 1927.
Edward Charles Derry to be Bandmaster, with the honorary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 13th May, 1927.
5TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES.
Otago Hussars.
Herbert Alexander Kerr to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 9th September, 1926.
THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Lieutenant K. Rix-Trott, from the Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment, to be Lieutenant. Dated 9th May, 1927.
THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT.
2nd Lieutenant R. B. Wood, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Canterbury Regiment. Dated 11th May, 1927.
2nd Lieutenant A. H. Fear, from the Hawke’s Bay Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 15th September, 1926, and is seconded for duty with the 4th C Battalion. Dated 9th May, 1927.
2nd Lieutenant R. B. Welch, from the Hawke’s Bay Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 12th February, 1927, and is seconded for duty with the 4th C Battalion. Dated 9th May, 1927.
James Edward Fitzgerald Vogel, to be 2nd Lieutenant and is seconded for duty with the 4th C Battalion. Dated 9th May, 1927.
The notices published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 21, of the 14th April, 1927, relative to 2nd Lieutenant E. W. Miles, are hereby cancelled and the following substituted :
2nd Lieutenant E. W. Miles, 3rd C Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Dated 4th February, 1927.
Lieutenant E. W. Miles ceases to be seconded to the 3rd C Battalion, and is seconded for duty with the 2nd C Battalion, with his original seniority. Dated 23rd March, 1927.
With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 21, of 14th April, 1927, relative to the transfer of 2nd Lieutenant C. C. T. Harris, for the words “2nd C Battalion” read “1st C Battalion.”
THE HAWKE’S BAY REGIMENT.
Captain M. W. Butterfield, 1st Battalion, is posted to the Retired List under the provisions of paragraph 126, General Regulations, 1913, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 9th May, 1927.
2nd Lieutenant A. H. Fear, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Wellington Regiment. Dated 9th May, 1927.
2nd Lieutenant R. B. Welch, 3rd C Battalion, is transferred to the Wellington Regiment. Dated 9th May, 1927.
John Dugdale to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), and is seconded for duty with the 1st C Battalion. Dated 9th May, 1927.
John Hector Sinclair to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), and is seconded for duty with the 1st C Battalion. Dated 9th May, 1927.
THE TARANAKI REGIMENT.

2nd Lieutenant J. Earl, from the Taranaki Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 17th July, 1925, and is seconded for duty with the 1st C Battalion. Dated 11th May, 1927.
2nd Lieutenant R. B. Wood, from the Wellington Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Battalion, with seniority as from the 11th May, 1926. Dated 11th May, 1927.
THE NELSON, MARLBOROUGH, AND WEST COAST REGIMENT.
Lieutenant K. Rix-Trott, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Corps of N.Z. Engineers, Central Depot. Dated 9th May, 1927.
2nd Lieutenant R. O. Symons, 1st Battalion, resigns his commission. Dated 10th May, 1927.

Lieutenant K. C. McDonald, from the Southland Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 25th July, 1925, and is seconded for duty with the 3rd C Battalion. Dated 11th May, 1927.
