APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed : 2 acres 2 roods 27·2 perches.
Adjoining or passing through Allotments 48 and 51 ; coloured green.
All situated in Manurewa Parish, Block X, Otahuhu Survey District (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 22561.)
All in the North Auckland Land District ; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 68622, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 20th day of May, 1927.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section twelve of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as a road the land in Otokia Survey District described in the First Schedule hereto ; and also do hereby proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto.

Notice altering the Boundaries of the Otago Mining District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section eight of the Mining Act, 1926, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, alter the boundaries of the Otago Mining District by including therein all that area of land described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, and being Reserve No. 770 (formerly Sections 190 and 191, Borough of Ashburton), and situated in the Borough of Ashburton ; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked Mines N. 6/4/18, and deposited in the Head Office, Department of Mines, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 20th day of May, 1927.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Street in the City of Wellington of a Width less than 66 ft. but not less than 50 ft.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of May, 1927.
Present :
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Wellington City Council to permit the laying-off of the street described in the Schedule hereto of a width less than sixty-six feet, but not less than fifty feet, it being inexpedient to lay off such street of a width of sixty-six feet.
SCHEDULE.
THAT street off The Terrace, in Wellington Land District, City of Wellington, being a deviation of Mount Street, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 2 perches, more or less, through parts Town Sections 447 and 448, Town of Wellington. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 66542, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Amendment to Regulations under the Government Railways Act, 1926.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of May, 1927.
Present :
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the Government Railways Act, 1926, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the regulations made under the Government Railways Act, 1908, on the twelfth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, by adding to Regulation 49 the following provisos :—
“ Provided, however, that the provisions of paragraph (c) subparagraph (iii) hereof, relating to telegraph operating and telegraph connections, balancing station books and accounts, and invoicing goods may, at the discretion of the Permanent Head, be waived in the case of members of the Locomotive, Maintenance, and Stores Branches :
“ Provided further, that such members shall be required to pass the Training School Senior Examination in the work of their respective branches, and shall be eligible for advancement only in such branches.”
