said block and survey district; thence by the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Section 53 of the aforesaid block and survey district, to and along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 513, 514, 515, 516, and part 517, all of Block IX of the before-mentioned survey district, to the stream forming the eastern boundary of the said Omata Riding; also that portion of the Mangorei Riding of the aforesaid Taranaki County lying to the south-west of the south-eastern boundaries of Sections part 517, 518, 519, 520, 521, 522, 523, 524, and part 772, all of Block IX of the Pari-tutu Survey District, to the Mangorei River, and lying to the north-west of the said Mangorei River from its junction with the said Section 772 to its junction with the south-western boundary of the aforesaid Mangorei Riding.

STRATFORD.

Stratford District comprises the existing Stratford Electoral District less the whole of the West Riding of Stratford County. This district now includes that portion of the Mangorei Riding of Taranaki County not included in the Egmont Electoral District hereinbefore described; it also includes the whole of the balance of Clifton County lying to the north-east of the existing Stratford Electoral District boundary.

NEW PLYMOUTH.

New Plymouth District comprises the existing Taranaki Electoral District less the whole of the Okato and Mangorei Ridings and portion of the Omata Riding, all of Taranaki County, now included in the Stratford and Egmont Electoral Districts hereinbefore described. This district now includes the Borough of Waitara together with that portion of the Waitara West Riding of the said Taranaki County lying between the existing Taranaki Electoral District boundary and the boundary of the said Borough of Waitara.

WAIMARINO.

Waimarino District comprises the existing Waimarino Electoral District less that portion of the Ruanui Riding of Rangitikei County; also less the whole of the Upper Wa-ngaehu and Mirikau Ridings, and that part of the Mangawhero Riding, all of Wanganui County, now included in the Rangitikei Electoral District hereinbefore described; also less that portion of the Taringamotu Riding of Taumarunui County and that portion of the Taupo County now included in the Rotorua Electoral District hereinbefore described. This district now includes the Ohura Town District together with the whole of the Ohura County less that portion of the Ongaruhe Riding of the said Ohura County lying between the Upper Ohura and Ohura Roads and the existing Waimarino Electoral District boundary.

WAITOMO.

Waitomo District is bounded on the north by the Raglan and Waikato Electoral Districts, hereinbefore described, from the ocean at Aotea Harbour to the Waikato River at the eastern boundary of Waipa County; thence bounded towards the east by the existing Rotorua Electoral District boundary to the northernmost point of Taumarunui County at the Pareora Trig. Station; thence bounded towards the south by the Waimarino and Stratford Electoral Districts herein-before described to the ocean at the mouth of the Mokau River; thence bounded towards the west by the ocean to Aotea Harbour, the place of commencement.

Proposed Boundaries of the Electoral Districts in the South Island (including Stewart Island and Chatham Islands) of New Zealand.

THE South Island Representation Commission appointed under the Legislature Act, 1908, in pursuance of section 21 of the said Act, hereby publish for general information the following proposed boundaries of the electoral districts in the South Island (including Stewart and Chatham Islands); and further give notice that written objections to the same, addressed to the undersigned, the Chairman of the said Commission, will be received at the office of the Chief Surveyor, Lands and Survey Department, Christchurch, up to noon on Tuesday, the 28th day of June, 1927, for consideration by the aforesaid Commission.

Maps of the proposed districts may be seen at the offices of the several local bodies in the South Island (including Stewart Island); of the Chief Surveyors at Dunedin, Christchurch, Nelson, Blenheim, Hokitika, and Invercargill; of the Chief Electoral Officer at Wellington; and of the several Registrars of Electors throughout the South Island aforesaid (including Stewart Island).

WESTLAND.

WESTLAND District comprises the existing Westland Electoral District unaltered.

BULLER.

Buller District comprises the existing Buller Electoral District less the whole of Boatman’s Riding of Inangahua County.

MOTUEKA.

Motueka District comprises the existing Motueka Electoral District together with the whole of Boatman’s Riding of Inangahua County, that portion of the Upper Moutere Riding of Waimea County lying between the existing electoral-district boundary and Tasman Bay, and the north-western boundary of Waimea West Road District; also that portion of the Waimea West Road District lying between the aforesaid road-district boundary and the Wai-iti and Waimea Rivers.

NELSON.

Nelson District comprises the existing Nelson Electoral District together with that portion of the Pelorus and Havelock Ridings of Marlborough County lying between the existing electoral-district boundary on the north-west and north-east and the summit of the main range on the east and south; and less that portion of Sounds County lying between the watershed north of Kenepuru Sound and the existing Wairau Electoral District boundary, and extending from Endeavour Inlet to Black Point on Pelorus Sound, less also that portion of the Moutere Riding and the Waimea Road District now forming part of the Motueka Electoral District hereinbefore described.

WAIRAU.

Wairau District comprises the existing Wairau Electoral District together with the whole of the Kaikoura County and that portion of the Kenepuru Sounds District between the existing electoral-district boundary and the watershed north of the Kenepuru Sound hereinbefore described, and less that portion of the Pelorus and Havelock Ridings hereinbefore described and now forming part of the Nelson Electoral District.

HURUNUI.

Hurunui District comprises the existing Hurunui Electoral District together with the whole of the Rangiora County, including Rangiora Borough and the Homebush Riding of Malvern County, less the whole of Kaikoura County, now forming part of the Wairau Electoral District hereinbefore described.

KAIAPOI.

Kaipoi District comprises the existing Kaipoi Electoral District together with that portion of the Courtenay Riding of Malvern County lying between the existing electoral-district boundary and the Waimakariri River; also the whole of the Yaldhurst, West Melton, Templeton, and Islington Ridings of the Paparua County; also that portion of Papanui Riding of Waimairi County lying between the existing electoral-district boundary and the boundary of Christchurch City; also together with the northern portion of New Brighton Borough lying between the existing electoral-district boundary on the north and north-west and Sea View Road on the south, less the whole of the Rangiora County, including Rangiora Borough, now forming part of the Hurunui Electoral District hereinbefore described.

CHRISTCHURCH NORTH.

Christchurch North District comprises the existing Christchurch North Electoral District together with that portion of the existing Riccarton Electoral District lying between Papanui and Harewood Roads and the city boundary; also that portion of the existing Electoral District of Christchurch South between Armagh and Kilmore Streets and Elgin and Colombo Streets; and less that portion between Kilmore and Armagh Streets and Park Terrace and Elgin Street; also less that portion lying between Warrington Street and Edward Avenue, Cleveland Street and Hills Road, between Edward and Kingsway Streets and Fitzgerald Street and Hills Road, and that portion bounded by Kingsway, Hills Road, Bealey Street, Bealey Avenue, and London Street.

CHRISTCHURCH EAST.

Christchurch East District comprises the existing Christchurch East Electoral District together with that portion of Christchurch City lying between Huxley and King, Montrose and Colombo Streets.

CHRISTCHURCH SOUTH.

Christchurch South District comprises the existing Christchurch South Electoral District together with that portion
