Proposed Boundaries of the Electoral Districts in the North Island of New Zealand.

THE North Island Representation Commission appointed under the Legislature Act, 1908, in pursuance of section 21 of the said Act, hereby publish for general information the following proposed boundaries of the electoral districts in the North Island; and, further, give notice that written objections to the same will be received by the undersigned, the Chairman of the said Commission, at the office of the Surveyor-General, Wellington, not later than noon on Monday, the 27th day of June, 1927, for consideration by the aforesaid Commission.

Maps of the proposed districts may be seen at the offices of the several local bodies in the said North Island; of the Chief Surveyors at Auckland, New Plymouth, Napier, and Wellington; of the Chief Electoral Officer at Wellington; and of the several Registrars of Electors throughout the North Island aforesaid.

NORTH ISLAND ELECTORAL DISTRICTS.

BAY OF ISLANDS.

BAY OF ISLANDS District comprises the existing Bay of Islands Electoral District less that portion of the Tutamoe Riding of the Hobson County lying to the north of the existing Bay of Islands Electoral District boundary, and to the south of the northern boundary of Hobson County.

KAIPARA.

Kaipara District comprises the existing Kaipara Electoral District less that portion of the Birkenhead Riding of Waitemata County lying to the south of the road extending from Lucas’s Creek at the south-western corner of Section 150, Block VII, Waitemata Survey District, to the eastern boundary of the said Birkenhead Riding at the northernmost corner of Section 117, Block VIII, Waitemata Survey District, and less that portion of the Takapuna Riding of the aforesaid Waitemata County lying to the south of the road extending from the western boundary of the said Takapuna Riding at the northern boundary of Section 172, Block IV, of the aforesaid Waitemata Survey District to the ocean at the creek south of Taiaotea. This district now includes that portion of the Tutamoe Riding of Hobson County lying to the north of the existing Bay of Islands Electoral District boundary and the northern boundary of Hobson County.

MARSDEN.

Marsden District comprises the existing Marsden Electoral District, the boundaries of which are unaltered.

WAITEMATA.

Waitemata District comprises the existing Waitemata Electoral District less the whole of the Borough of Birkenhead. This district now includes those portions of the Birkenhead and Takapuna Ridings of Waitemata County excluded from the Kaipara Electoral District hereinbefore described.

EDEN.

Eden District comprises the Borough of Birkenhead, the Borough of Avondale, and that portion of Auckland City and the Borough of Mount Albert comprising the Avondale Mental Hospital Endowment, together with the Town Districts of Henderson, Glen Eden, and New Lynn. This district also includes the Waitakerei, Waipareira, Waikomiti, and Titerangi Ridings of Waitemata County.

AUCKLAND WEST.

Auckland West District comprises the existing Auckland West Electoral District together with that portion of Auckland City lying between the existing electoral-district boundary and the southern side of Napier Street, the western side of Hepburn Street, and the north-western side of Franklin Road.
