Alterations to Scale of Charges in Force upon the New Zealand Government Railways.

IN pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling me under the Government Railways Act, 1926, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, I, Francis Joseph Rolleston, Acting Minister of Railways, do hereby make the following alterations in the scale of charges in force on the New Zealand Government Railways open for traffic made on the 10th day of August, 1925, and published in the Gazette of the 11th August, 1925; and I do hereby declare that such alterations shall come into force on the 26th May, 1927.

PART I. PASSENGERS.
LOCAL FARES AND REGULATIONS.

By omitting from Regulation 41 the following :-

4B. Special Wednesday Fares to Wellington (Lambton).—Special return tickets will be issued to Wellington (Lambton) from the undermentioned stations by the 12.48 p.m. train from Upper Hutt and later trains on Wednesdays only :—

These special return tickets will be available for return on the day of issue or following day only.

(d.) Trip bearer tickets available for twelve single journeys by rail between Petone, Lower Hutt, or Melling Stations and Wellington (Lambton) will be issued at the following fares: Between Petone or Lower Hutt and Wellington—First class, 8s. 6d.; second class, 6s. Between Melling and Wellington—First class, 9s. 3d.; second class, 6s. 6d. These tickets will be unrestricted as to period of availability.

By adding to paragraph 1 of Regulation 39 the words—

“Waterloo—Wellington (Lambton)” after the words “Upper Hutt—Wellington (Lambton)” in the fourth line of this paragraph.

By adding to paragraph 3 of Regulation 40 the following :—

From or to—
Wellington (Lambton) ..

To or from—
Ava—Waterloo and intermediate stations and stopping-places.

By adding to paragraph 4 of Regulation 41 the following :—

(d.) For the purpose of charging tickets issued under the provisions of Regulations 12, 14, 16, 19, 28, 39, and 40, between the stations set out hereunder the distance will be counted as follows in each case :—

Wellington (Lambton) and Ava ..

(e.) Tickets issued under the provisions of the regulations specified in sub-paragraph (d) of this regulation and Regulations 20, 21, and 22, also subparagraph (f) of paragraph 4, and paragraph 4B of Regulation 41 will be available for travel as follows :—

(f.) Trip bearer tickets available for twelve single journeys by rail between Petone, Ava, Woburn, Waterloo, Lower Hutt, or Melling and Wellington (Lambton) Stations will be issued at the following fares :—

First class, 8s. 6d.; second class, 6s.

These tickets will be subject to the same conditions as trip bearer tickets issued under the provisions of Regulation 9.
