Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 13th May, 1927.
THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Paeroa, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

PAEROA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Swimming-baths Loan of £2,000.
PURSUANT to sections of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Paeroa was taken on the 27th day of April, 1927, on the proposal of the Paeroa Borough Council to borrow the sum of £2,000 for the purpose of acquiring a site and erecting swimming-baths thereon.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 292; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 89. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

WAIRARAPA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
Proposed Loan of £2,000.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Wangaehu Special-rating Area taken on the 26th day of March, 1927, on the proposal of the Wairarapa Electric-power Board to borrow the sum of £2,000 for the purpose of providing additional funds for works, buildings, land, and equipment necessary in connection with the generation, distribution, and utilization of electric energy within the Wairarapa Electric-power District,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 8; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
Proposed Loan of £500.
Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Weraiti Special-rating Area taken on the 4th day of May, 1927, on the proposal of the Wairarapa Electric-power Board to borrow the sum of £500 for the purpose of providing additional funds for works, buildings, land, and equipment necessary in connection with the generation, distribution, and utilization of electric energy within the Wairarapa Electric-power District,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 2; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Road of Less Width than 66 ft.
WHEREAS in the opinion of the Minister of Lands it is inexpedient, by reason of the fact that the land shown upon the plan of Town of Manor Park affecting part Section 178, Hutt Registration District, and prepared by Hubert Sladden, Licensed Surveyor, is intended to be used wholly for residential purposes, that the road shown therein should be of the width of 66 ft.:
Now, therefore, I, Oswald James Hawken, for the Minister of Lands, do hereby, in pursuance of the power conferred upon me by section 17, subsection (1), of the Land Act, 1924, and of every other power me thereunto enabling, authorize the laying-off of such road of a width of 40 ft.: Provided always that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such road.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XV, Akatarawa Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Kaitoke, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
