6 chains; Marshall Avenue (Street), 9 chains; Nixon Street, 16 chains; Willis Street, 5 chains; No. 3 Line of Road (Street), 12 chains; Richmond Street, 9 chains; Broughton Street, 12 chains; Eastown Road (Street), 17 chains; Somme Parade, 39 chains; Delhi Avenue (Street), 11 chains; Madras Street, 11 chains; Borlase Place (Street), 4 chains; Queen Street, 4 chains; Kotare Street, 5 chains; Webb Road (Street), 30 chains; Durievale Road (Street), 6 chains; Allison Street, 2 chains; Ngapuhi Street, 7 chains; Taranaki Street, 10 chains; Great North Road (Street), 20 chains; Kent Road (Street), 12 chains; London Street, 30 chains; and the doing or supplying of all works materials and things necessary or expedient in connection with the completion of the drainage system of the city in the areas aforesaid—the said Wanganui City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fifth of a penny (1/5d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the City of Wanganui, comprising the whole of the City of Wanganui, the boundaries whereof are defined in the New Zealand Gazette of the 12th day of August, 1926, Number 53, at pages 2,500 and 2,501, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 15th day of April and the 15th day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period expiring on the 15th day of October, 1943, or until the loan is fully paid off.

RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Rangitikei County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Rangitikei County Bridge Loan of £1,000, 1927, authorized to be raised by the Rangitikei County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing the Council’s share of the cost of constructing a new bridge over the Tutaenui Stream at Curls, together with approaches thereto, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-four hundred and eightieth (1/480th) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the whole of the County of Rangitikei, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of May in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½) years or until the loan is fully paid off.

INVERCARGILL BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTIONS MAKING SPECIAL RATES.

Oreti Bridge and Road to Beach Loan of £11,300.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Invercargill Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £11,300, authorized to be raised by the Invercargill Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for a two-way bridge across the Oreti River near Dunn’s Road, also for construction of road to beach, including material, labour, and plant, the said Invercargill Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal one four seven of a penny (0·147d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property of the Borough of Invercargill, comprising the whole of the Borough of Invercargill, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period as prescribed by the Governor-General by Order in Council, or until the loan is fully paid off.

House and other Improvements at Pilot Station Loan of £1,500.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,500, authorized to be raised by the Invercargill Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for erecting a house and other improvements at Pilot Station, New River Heads, including labour and materials, the said Invercargill Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought two nought (0·020d.) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property of the Borough of Invercargill, comprising the whole of the Borough of Invercargill, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period as prescribed by the Governor-General by Order in Council, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Streets Formation, Construction, and Improvements Loan of £60,000.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £60,000, authorized to be raised by the Invercargill Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, as a first instalment towards a complete roading scheme and improvement of streets in the borough, not included in the £74,000 Loan, including kerbing, channelling, labour, plant, tools, and material, the said Invercargill Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal eight three two (0·832d.) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property of the Borough of Invercargill, comprising the whole of the Borough of Invercargill, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period as prescribed by the Governor-General by Order in Council, or until the loan is fully paid off.

ELSTOW DRAINAGE BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL INTEREST RATES.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Elstow Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £600, authorized to be raised by the Elstow Drainage Board under the above-mentioned Act, for and in connection with the constructing, providing, and establishing electric pumping plants as additional drainage-works within the meaning of and pursuant to the Land Drainage Act, 1908, for the benefit of the Awaiiti No. 2 Special-rating Area of the Board’s District, the Elstow Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate on a graduated scale according to the Board’s classification of the rateable property within the said area, upon the rateable value (upon the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the Awaiiti No. 2 Special-rating Area of the Elstow Drainage District upon Class “A” of three farthings in the pound, upon Class “B” of two farthings in the pound, and upon Class “C” of one farthing in the pound, such area comprising all that area in the Elstow Drainage District, being part of Awaiiti Subdivision, in the County of Hauraki Plains of the Auckland Land District, commencing at the northern corner of Section 1b 1, Kaikahu; thence following the eastern boundary-line of that section and the eastern boundary-line of Section 1b 2, Kaikahu, to its eastern corner; thence following the northern boundary-line of the area marked C/L to its northern corner; thence by the eastern boundary-line of that section to the north-western boundary of Section 2c 1, Awaiiti; thence by that boundary to its most northern corner; thence south-easterly to the east corner; thence south-westerly and southerly and easterly to the north corner of Section 2c 2, Awaiiti; thence on by that section to the north corner of Section 2c 3B, Awaiiti; thence along that section boundary-line to the northern corner of Section part 2c 3, Awaiiti; thence along that section boundary-line to the western corner of Section 6, Awaiiti; thence along that section boundary-line to the public road on its western side; thence along that road forming the eastern boundary of Sections 6, 2, and 11, Awaiiti, to the western corner of Section Lot 3, Awaiiti; thence by the boundary of that section to its easternmost corner; thence along the south-eastern boundary-line of Sections Lots 3 and 2 to the southern corner of Section Lot 2, Awaiiti; thence along the eastern boundary-line of part Section 1d No. 2, Crown Lands Section, Sections 1j 2b 3, 1, 1j 2a 1, 1a No. 1, 1a 2b 2b, 1a 2b 2a, 1a 2b 1, 1a 2a 1, to the boundary-line of Section 1a 2a 3b, Awaiiti; thence following a straight line across Section 1a 2a 3b to the northern corner of Section 1a 2a 2, Awaiiti; thence along that section boundary-line to its eastern corner; thence along the south-eastern boundary-line of that section to its southern corner; thence on along a line forming the south boundary of Sections 1a 2a 1 and 1a 2b 1 to
