Appointments, Promotions, Resignations, and Transfers of Officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

STAFF.

Captain W. Murphy, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Area Officer, Area 10A (Christchurch), as from 3rd March, 1927, and is appointed Adjutant, 1st Battalion, Canterbury Regiment (Christchurch), vice Captain A. S. Hooper, The Wiltshire Regiment. Dated 4th March, 1927.

Captain A. S. Hooper, The Wiltshire Regiment, relinquishes the appointment of Adjutant, 1st Battalion, Canterbury Regiment (Christchurch), as from 3rd March, 1927, and is appointed Area Officer, Area 10c (Timaru), vice Major H. D. McHugh, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps. Dated 4th March, 1927.

Lieutenant A. H. L. Sugden, N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Area Officer, Area 10A (Christchurch), vice Captain W. Murphy, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps. Dated 4th March, 1927.

N.Z. STAFF CORPS.

Honorary Lieutenant (W.O. I) E. G. Moncrief, M.C. (N.Z. Permanent Staff), to be Lieutenant with effect from 1st January, 1927, and is appointed Area Officer, Area 4B, Pukekohe. Dated 12th March, 1927.

Honorary Lieutenant (W.O. I) A. P. McCormack (N.Z. Permanent Staff) to be Lieutenant. Dated 1st January, 1927.

6TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (MANAWATU).

Lieutenant A. G. Simpson is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b) R.D. 6. Dated 19th March, 1927.

7TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (WELLINGTON EAST COAST.)

The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants to be Lieutenants. Dated 30th March, 1927.

THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Lieutenant G. S. Troup is transferred from the 5th Field Battery to the 10th Field Battery, with seniority as from the 28th March, 1922.

2nd Lieutenant M. E. E. Benjamin, 1st Field Battery, to be Lieutenant. Dated 17th March, 1927.

THE HAURAKI REGIMENT.

Lieutenant-Colonel R. F. Gambrill relinquishes command of the 1st Battalion, and is transferred to the Hawke’s Bay Regiment. Dated 28th September, 1926.

THE NORTH AUCKLAND REGIMENT.

Captain A. D. Jack, M.C., 1st Battalion, to be Major. Dated 1st February, 1927.

THE WAIKATO REGIMENT.

George Charles Revell to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), and is seconded for duty with the 2nd C Battalion. Dated 18th March, 1927.

THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT.

Lieutenant M. S. Galloway, M.C., is posted to the Retired List under the provisions of G.O. 184/21, with the rank of captain, and with permission to wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 28th March, 1927.

2nd Lieutenant E. W. Miles ceases to be seconded to the 3rd C Battalion, and is seconded for duty with the 2nd C Battalion with his original seniority. Dated 23rd March, 1927.

2nd Lieutenant E. W. Miles, 2nd C Battalion to be Lieutenant. Dated 4th February, 1927.

2nd Lieutenant C. C. T. Harris, from the Hawke’s Bay Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is seconded for duty with the 2nd C Battalion, with seniority as from the 12th November, 1924. Dated 19th March, 1927.

2nd Lieutenant M. D. Grant, from the Canterbury Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Battalion, with seniority as from the 5th May, 1925. Dated 28th March, 1927.

2nd Lieutenant H. J. Freeman ceases to be seconded to the 2nd C Battalion, and is posted to the 1st Battalion, with his original seniority. Dated 19th March, 1927.

Frederick Stanley Ramson to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) and is seconded for duty with the 1st C Battalion. Dated 22nd March, 1927.

THE HAWKE’S BAY REGIMENT.

Lieutenant-Colonel R. F. Gambrill, from the Hauraki Regiment, to be Lieutenant-Colonel, and is seconded for duty with the 4th C Battalion, with seniority as from the 13th September, 1924. Dated 28th September, 1926.

2nd Lieutenant C. C. T. Harris, 3rd C Battalion, is transferred to the Wellington Regiment. Dated 19th March, 1927.

THE TARANAKI REGIMENT.

Lieutenant F. N. Whitcombe, 1st Battalion, to be Captain and quartermaster. Dated 24th March, 1927.

2nd Lieutenant W. R. Ainsworth, 1st Battalion, is seconded for duty with the 1st C Battalion, with his original seniority. Dated 24th March, 1927.

THE CANTERBURY REGIMENT.

2nd Lieutenant M. D. Grant, 4th C Battalion, is transferred to the Wellington Regiment. Dated 28th March, 1927.

THE OTAGO REGIMENT.

John Laurence Anderson to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is seconded for duty with the 1st C. Battalion. Dated 15th March, 1927.

William Light to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is seconded for duty with the 2nd C Battalion. Dated 24th March, 1927.

THE SOUTHLAND REGIMENT.

Alan Robert Dunlop to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), and is seconded for duty to the 1st C Battalion. Dated 24th March, 1927.

THE N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.

The Reverend W. P. Rankin, Chaplain, 4th Class, is transferred from the Reserve List, Class I, to the Reserve List, Class II (R.D. 1). Dated 24th March, 1927.

RESERVE OF OFFICERS.

Lieutenant D. A. Finlayson is posted to the Retired List under the provisions of G.O. 184/21, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 25th March, 1927.

MEMORANDUM.

It is notified for general information that all previous Gazette notices relating to Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Colonel on the Staff) W. L. H. Burgess should read W. L. H. Sinclair-Burgess.
