Notice as to Areas in the Otago Land District declared to be Fire Districts.
State Forest Service,
Wellington, 21st January, 1927.
PURSUANT to section 27 of the Forests Act, 1921-22, I do hereby notify that, on the recommendation of the Director of Forestry and the Land Board of the district, the areas described in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared by me to be fire districts, and I do further specify the period from the 1st day of November in any year to the 31st March in the following year, inclusive, as the period during which it shall not be lawful for any person within the said districts, save pursuant to the written permit of a Forest Officer, to set on fire, or cause to be set on fire, any timber (whether standing or not), or any undergrowth, or any debris from forest operations, or any land-clearing operations, or grass or other specially inflammable material, without taking such precautions as may be prescribed by a Forest Officer.
SCHEDULE.
NASEBY PLANTATION FIRE DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District containing approximately 7,830 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks I, V, VI, VII, VIII, Naseby Survey District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-western corner of Section 32, Block VII; thence generally in a north-easterly direction to trig. station C, Block VIII; thence by a right line to the Eweburn Stream at the south boundary of the reservoir site No. 1, by that stream to a point due west of trig. station J; thence by a right line to a point fifty chains due east of the said trig. station; thence south-westerly by a right line to trig. station I in Block II; thence by a right line in a south-easterly direction to the south-east corner of Section 23, Block I; thence westerly by a right line to the Geometrical Station in Block VI; thence by a right line to the north-west corner of Section 32, Block VIII, the place of commencement; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 176/6, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
BLUE MOUNTAIN FIRE DISTRICT.
All that area in the Otago Land District containing approximately 72,000 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks III, V, X, XI, XIII, XIV, XVI, XVIII, XIX, XX, and XXI, Crookston Survey District, Blocks IV and VIII, Glenkenich Survey District, and Blocks II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, and XI, Rankleburn Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Commencing on the right bank of the Clutha River at a point intersected by the southern boundary of Block I, Crookston Survey District; thence running in a north-westerly direction along the said southern boundary of Block I to the eastern boundary of Section 43; thence by that boundary to a point opposite the northern boundary of Section 41 of Block I aforesaid; thence by the northern boundary of said Section 41 and by the road forming its western boundary to the southern corner of Section 46, Block I; thence in a northerly direction by the western boundary of Block I, Crookston Survey District, to the southern boundary of Section 4, Block XVI; thence in a westerly direction by the last-named boundary and by the southern boundary of Sections 9, 13, 12, Block XVI, and Section 11, Block XIII; thence in a southerly direction by the road forming the western boundary of Section 12, Block XIII, and the northern boundary of Section 9, Block XIV; thence continuing in a southerly direction by the west boundary of said Section 9, to and by the road joining the north-west boundaries of Sections 4 and 3, Block XIV, and 7, 8, 9, and 10, Block XI, and by the road forming the western boundary of Sections 10 and 1, Block XI, and continuing southerly by that road to the northern boundary of Section 1, Block V; thence westerly by that boundary and southerly by the western boundary of said Section 1, all in Crookston Survey District; thence by a line in continuation of the last-named boundary to and along the road forming the north and west boundaries of Section 2, the west boundaries of Sections 3, 4, 20, the north-east and west boundaries of Section 22, and the west boundary of Section 23, Block IX, Rankleburn Survey District; thence westerly by the road forming the southern boundary of Sections 18, 17, and 4, Block IV, Glenkenich Survey District, again in a southerly direction by the road forming the eastern boundary of Section 5, and intersecting Section 3 of said Block IV; thence in an easterly direction by Cemetery Road to a point opposite the south-western boundary of said Section 3, to and by that boundary and the south-western boundary of Section 6, to and by the road forming the southern boundary of said Section 6, to and by the road forming the western boundary of Sections 28 and 29, Block VIII, Glenkenich Survey District, and continuing in a southerly direction by the western boundary of Sections 30 and 31 and the eastern boundaries of Sections 24 and 25, Block VIII, to a road; thence westerly along that road, to and by the west boundary of Block VIII in a southerly direction, the south boundary of Block VIII in an easterly direction, the western boundary of Rankleburn Survey District in a southerly direction to a road at the north-west corner of Section 1, Block XI, Rankleburn Survey District; thence by that road and the north-east boundary of said Section 1 and Sections 4 and 5 to the road forming part of the north-east boundary of said Section 5; thence by that road to and by the Pomahaka River in an easterly direction to the west boundary of Section 6, Block III, by the last-named boundary and the north boundary of said Section 6 and Education Reserve No. 3, to and by the east boundary of Block III to a point in continuation of the south boundary of Education Reserve No. 12, Block II; thence to and by the last-named boundary to and by a road to the east boundary of said Block II; thence in a northerly direction by the last-named boundary to and by the road forming the south and east boundaries of Section 5, Block VI, and east boundary of Section 10 and part Section 9, the south-east boundary of E.R. 31 and Section 24, the east boundary of the last-named section and Sections 25, 44, and 45, and in an easterly direction by the south boundary of Section 21 to the Clutha River; thence in a northerly direction by that river to the point of commencement: as the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 204/14 deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

International Colonial Town-planning Exhibition, Paris, May and June, 1927.

IT is hereby notified for public information that advice has been received from the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs that an International Colonial Town-planning Exhibition will be held in Paris during the months of May and June, 1927. The Exhibition is open to States, colonies, cities, or experts:
Notices of entry, accompanied by certain prescribed fees, must reach Paris before the 1st April, 1927, and exhibits must reach the Society of French Artists, Grand Palace, Porte D., by the 10th April, 1927, at the latest.
Further information showing the class of exhibits required, fees, and general conditions will be supplied to any person interested on application to the Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

Taupo Harbour Regulations, 1926: Licensing of Vessels plying for Hire, Master Boatmen, and Watermen.

THE Minister of Internal Affairs directs it to be notified that, pursuant to the Taupo Harbour Regulations, 1926, he has authorized
Constable George Johnston, of Tokaanu,
to act for such Minister for the purpose of licensing vessels plying for hire, master boatmen, and watermen, under the aforesaid regulations.
