THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Heathcote County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926.

Mount Pleasant Electric Loan of £2,000.
PURSUANT to section 14 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers in the Mount Pleasant Riding of the County of Heathcote, taken on the 19th January, 1927, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £2,000 for the purpose of electric light extensions—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 45; the number of votes against the proposal was 9.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Proposed Loan, £1,300.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Avondale, taken on the 5th day of February, 1927, on the proposal of the Avondale Borough Council to borrow the sum of £1,200 for extension of the main sewer—
The number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal was 51; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 59; informal votes, 4.
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.
Proposed Loan, £10,300.
Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of a specially defined part of the borough called the Sewer Reticulation Rating - area No. 2, taken on the 5th day of February, 1927, on the proposal of the Avondale Borough Council to borrow the sum of £10,300 for sewer reticulation in the said special area—
The number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal was 19; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 17; informal vote, 1.
I therefore declare the proposal was carried.

Varying Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, fixing the Closing-hours of Fishmongers' Shops within the Borough of Hastings.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the fishmongers’ shops within the Borough of Hastings, has been forwarded to me, desiring that the notice dated the 23rd January, 1923, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 25th January, 1923, fixing the closing-hours of such shops, be varied in the following manner—viz., by deleting the reference to closing on Saturdays at 8.30 p.m., and substituting therefor the following : On Saturdays, from 1st March to 30th September (both days inclusive), at 9.45 p.m., and during the remainder of the year at 8.30 p.m. :
And whereas I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the fishmongers’ shops within the Borough of Hastings:
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, I do hereby direct that the notice dated the 23rd January, 1923, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 25th January, 1923, fixing the closing-hours of fishmongers’ shops in the Borough of Hastings is hereby varied accordingly as from the 1st day of March, 1927.

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to an application in that behalf made to me by the Auckland Municipal Tramways and Omnibus Employees’ Industrial Union of Workers, registered number 1088, situated at Auckland, and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon me by section 22 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925, it is my intention to cancel the registration of that industrial union after the expiration of six weeks from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, unless in the meantime cause is shown to the contrary.
