pounds (£1,500) authorized by a special order passed on the twentieth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, and confirmed on the eighteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, pursuant to a petition of the ratepayers in the South Mangaehu, Perrys, and Tauwharenikau Roads Special-rating District of the County of Stratford, for the purpose of metalling portions of the South Mangaehu, Perrys, and Tauwharenikau Roads:

And whereas the proceedings are irregular in that the advertisements as required by section ninety-nine, subsection (c), of the Counties Act, 1920, and published in the Stratford Evening Post newspaper at Stratford on the twenty-third and thirtieth days of November and the eleventh and fourteenth days of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, respectively, were not published once in each and every of the four weeks immediately preceding the date of the meeting confirming the special order:

And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by the irregularity or defect aforesaid, and it is expedient to validate the same:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section one hundred and twenty-two of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the proceedings taken shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though the advertisements had been published once in each and every of the four weeks immediately preceding the date of the meeting confirming the special order, and that the validity of the proceedings in connection with the said loan shall not be called into question by reason only of the irregularity or defect aforesaid.

F. D. THOMSON,
Clerk of the Executive Council.
